Default Part # Help Needed...

...I'm rebuilding a theft recovery 01Zapparently there is a splash shield that i am missing and cannot find the part # for.
It is held to the pass. side A pillar(behind the fender) by 2 small screws.I think it is to protect the ECM from moisture-the part # may be on it.Spent about 1/2 hour at the dealer looking for it but no luck.

That is the rear fender cover RH side according to parts manual that I have.

I'll check on it later today.

At first I was thinking of the same part number there aj, but now I'm not so sure. The part number you posted is held on by far more than "2 small screws". That one is held on by at least 6 or 7 (approx) screws.

ChopperLoco: Post a picture or give a more detailed description.

Same one I looked at too Ed and can't find anything like what he's describing. Especially something fastened by "two screws" and "held to the pass. side A pillar". I even looked at the PCM mounting location and didn't find anything there either.

I'm thinking this one is going to have to have a picture.

I looked on mine and apparently you are looking at the two mounting holes for the (in GM language) "TANK, HTR & A/C CONT VAC". Translated: Heater and Air Conditioning Control vacuum tank.

GM part # 10188042

If you have access to the GM parts list. look in: Group 9, pg 4J2, part #6.

When you open the door and look in the hinge area, you cannot see the entire tank; just the rear part that fastens to the A-pillar is visible. Access to it is normally behind the wheel-well and under the battery.

Glad to help.

BTW with no HVAC, be sure to cap off the small vacuum port on the backside of your intake manifold. There is a vacuum fitting (small 1/8" black nylon tube) there that goes directly to this vacuum tank that we have been speaking of.
