Why is everyone jumping to the conclusion that it is the EBCM is beyond me. There is about 2 dozen different thing that will trigger that light to come on

The 1255 code is usually the death code for the EBCM unfortunately. What does the volt meter read at idle?

That is a little out of my expertise ... where would I put the volt meter? I have one which is a good start!

It is right at 14 volts. I just got a new battery the other day. So when you say the kiss of death what options are left? I see that some people send theirs off to be rebuilt. I know it is still drivable without the ABS and Traction Control but I would really love to have it all working again. Thank you!!

From all that I have read the 1255 is not repairable so you will need to buy a new EBCM.
Check Ebay or Mark at vettenuts.net or someone parting their car out. You will also need to make sure it right unit you your car as there are 2 different units.

Hello again! Just contacted Travis at Vettetronics and it seems like they can repair my broken EBCM too! Has anyone had that done yet?

I was looking at him for the AC stuff and checked out his Facebook page and lo and behold there was a post about the EBCM repair! I reached out to him and he said send it in when I get if off the car.
