Default Door panel removal

How do you remove the driver side door panel? Near the top mine doesn't seat well or tight. It may need new clips. Where can I get the clips? Is there a document or sticky showing how to remove the door panels?

This post will help you. As far as the clips, I think you can get them at any auto parts store or GM.

very easy
comes off in less than 5 minutes if you have the right tool for popping the clips
there are a couple of screws uner the handle , under the oval piece

clips can be found in the red HELP packages at most auto stores

Here's an alternative set of instructions from Vette Essentials; it's also rich in pictures and very helpful.

Those "oval pieces" behind the door handle like to break. Well the tabs on the back of them. Be ready to replace those as well. I have had very bad luck with those and have gone threw three sets. I have nothing there anymore as i refuse to buy another set that will just break again.

Three words: 3M Double-sided tape. Works like a charm.

Yeah mine broke also and I used black silicone. I just took my door panel off 2 weeks ago and it does come off pretty easily otherwise.

I used the vette essentials guide when we replaced our door panels in Dec. Got the white clips and thing behind the door handle from the local Chevy dealer. They keep them in stock. Took about 45 minutes to swap both.

There is an inexpensive tool made for popping the clips that is available at most auto part stores. Used properly, you won't have to replace broken clips. I've had my panels off a couple of times and still have the original clips. It should only take a few minutes to remove a door panel.

And to the person whose door panel is not on properly at the top, the panel was probably removed and not seated correctly when the top edge was reinstalled.

Yes that top edge was a bit of a challenge to put in place.
