I'm sure that their are a hundred threads about this but I can't find them. What is the best clutch set up for my 1998 C5 it's got 94K and I'm looking to upgrade the clutch! I use the car for a daily sometimes if I'm going out somewhere but the other times it's just street racing and sometimes going to the drag strip! Just want some Vette guys to let me know what stage and brand they think i should go with since I'm a noob at this point! Thanks!
I also plan on doing many power upgrades in the future!

Before anyone could even begin to make a recommendation we'd need to know what your power goals and budget are.

If you're going to stay near stock power levels for the life of this clutch my recommendation would be to go with the LS6. Read this thread I posted in earlier today... it would have come up if you'd used the search function.

I just wrote a review on my impressions on my newly installed Monster Stage 2 clutch. Good for up to 550rwph (over 600 motor HP).
I can't get over how it feels just like stock !
Its lighter than the stock clutch and I can feel the difference too. ![Yes Nod](https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/images/smilies/yesnod.gif)

I got the LS7 clutch from Mike, this is a good upgrade from stock. My car has 405 rwhp, so it was a good match for me. make sure you order a speed bleeder as well.

I opted not to add a speed bleeder when I installed my LS7 clutch. Ive seen too many issues with these remote bleeders leaking.... using the ranger method to burp the hydraulics works well enough. when you are in there a Z06 slave and master will be an upgrade.. you can not use LS7 slave and master on a C5.

They need to be installed properly, with a copper or aluminum washer at the slave area.
Ask me how I know!

edit for clarification: Actually had to file flat the area where the washer contacts the slave, because the milling marks in that area caused it to leak.
The bleed end then needs to be TIGHT when finished bleeding.
Never again had an issue after that.

The Level 1 will handle the cam/headers power you mention as it can easily hold 450rwhp. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about a Monster Clutch, thanks.
We also offer a couple different bleeders and haven't had any issues with leaking as long as they're installed properly, they definitely ease bleeding the clutch initially and the remote speed bleeders are great for the guys who frequent the track.

Absolutely get a monster over OEM. If you have any kind of failures, there is a chance it will be warrantied if the failure is deemed a defect and not an install error. I had a stage 3 fail and I simply sent monster a picture of the damage. I had a new clutch in 2 days...just based off a picture. THAT is customer service and they now have my business again as I just purchased a clutch for my corvette from them. Also, the light flywheel gives a noticeable SOTP difference in gears 1 and 2. So glad I didn't get the ls7 from Gene. LOL, good luck getting that replaced if there is a manufacturing defect.
