It sounds like popcorn in my car when I drive over anything other than a glass smooth surface. I need to install some clips, lube and heat shrink. Do I just heat shrink over the rear posts on the roof panel?

I later installed O-rings but noise got louder. So removed.
Will try shrink tubing on rear posts in a few weeks and see how that goes.
Good luck.

Did you make sure all the handle and latch hardware bolts are tight? If the creaking is coming from the rear latch that can be adjusted. I did not use the o rings or shrink wrap, only e-clips and dielectric grease on all contact points.

I have not tightened the front or rear latch mechanisms. I will give them a try before I try the shrink tubing. I have noticed that when I lift the rear hatch, there is a repeatable slight creaking sound. I have tightened the halo bolts, but that did not stop the noise. Doing one thing at a time allows one to see if and how much that fix helped. With only the e-clips installed, the remaining slight creaking seems to be coming from the rear passenger side. thanks for your suggestions.
