Default Ugh! Has anyone looked under the front bumper?

I just had occasion to look under my front bumper. I have clearly suffered rash from parking curbs at the front of the car. It looks so bad, I won't even think of trying to repair the scratches. My clear bra does not go that far under. It would make me feel better if someone else has ignored the same problem...

Not a pretty sight.

I'm convinced the only way to avoid this is to

1. Previous owner of Vettes buys brand new and takes care of it.
2. Read CF religiously.

I remember my first curb in my C5.

On the occasions that I actually park somewhere that there is curbing (restaurant pkg lots or rest areas during road trips) I back into the space. If there is no other choice, I stop at least 3 feet short of the space it appears I have. End result, no scrapes.

It only took once. The car is short, park what appears to be 2-3ft from the curb.

I normally do not use the underside of the car to tell me when I have gone too far. Not one scratch under mine.

The under side of my front bumper is pretty ugly due to me accidentally pulling a bit too forward on one of those parking space 'blocks'...oops.

always park in reverse

you think thats bad.. my parents drive a 300c SRT-8 and the front clip gets completely hung up on anything. both my parens and myself have taken turns ripping the clip off the car
luckily its just pressure clips/retainers holding it into place. can you believe that the front of that thing is lower than a Vette?

I got my first scrape coming out of a parking lot in CVS, the angle is there but I wasnt thinking and I took it straight. I hear scrape... "Ah $#@^%^^"! i get home to access the damage and its not too bad but its a few white lines in the paint, wont even come out rubbing it but you cant see it unless you go underneath. I am more carerful now, so I just ignore it. Another thing I am gonna have to change is the spalsh pan, its scraped enough near the front fenders and its sort of an eye sore.
