Well, I made it all 500 miles on I95. Only damage that I can see is a rock scratch on the driver side headlight.
How can you get this thing out? I'm guessing I can just buff it out no?

I would try some toothpaste. Works pretty well as a plastic polish. It may not remove it, but it will lessen it.

How about Meguiar's PlasticX and drill mounted buffer ball poly headlight restorer kit. Forum sponser Auto Geek sells a similar set up, so maybe give them a call.

If you can feel it with your fingernail, it may be there to stay. There are many plastic polishes (you can even use a light polishing compound with a wet pad) that may minimize the appearance of the scratch. I use PLEXUS...good luck and if you find something that works, by all means let us know!

I agree and have done it myself. Quixx makes a plastic and lens scratch remover kit that comes with very fine sandpaper and two polishes. You simply wetsand, then polish and then finishing polish. Or you could pay multiple $100's and replae it or repair it at a shop. I think the answer is a no-brainer.

If you have no experience in cutting and buffing, take it to an experienced body shop. Takes about 10 minutes, and they should be able to polish it out for you. I'm sure they wouldn't charge you a lot either.
Plastic is really easy to buff out..if you know what you are doing.

The plastic is very soft. I would do the toothpaste first buy hand.
Use the power tool for your pickup truck.

Check out any of the websites that sell Aircraft supplies, small planes like Cessna's have plastic/lexan windshields, they are very expensive to replace so owners clean then up after they get nasty, they sell a restoration kit, it has a couple of different grades of polishes, and the buffer (for a drill) is a bit more money (not a lot) than the auto stuff butt well worth the money....
......and is FAA approved
