Who built you LS3 Grand Sport engine?

I continue to be in awe of this "builder" marketing program. I also continue to be amazed that anyone cares who assembled an engine from standardized work instructions.
You see, in a modern factory, with a modern quality system that is audited by internal and external auditors, all workers MUST do the task the same.
Thus, every "engine builder" must follow precisely the same work instructions on each and every engine assembled. There cannot be any individual differences from one "builder" to another.
You might say that this is all fine except that there is always the "builder's" "touch"....that personal finesse with which he or she torques the head bolts etc. Except that, as we've seen in the video, a "fixture" torques all the bolts and confirms the torque automatically-probably the same way it's done on all the "non-hand built engines".
Some marketing people really earned their bonuses thinking up this one. Some of you guys really lap it up.
But, as they say, it really "don't mean nothing".
ps. Now, one of you union workers please tell me all about how the hand built engines are actually better than the non hand built engines. Except, oops, I forgot, nobody from the factory has ever made any statements about the hand jobs being better engines......that fantasy is all between the ears of some of the buyers of the cars who want so very much to have a car that's somehow "different" and "special". If the "hand building" process ACTUALLY produces a better engine please tell us all the details! Otherwise, those of us with some rationality on the subject will just have to assume that the ONLY difference between hand assembled and non hand assembled is that plaque some owners are so gosh darned proud of. Go on, one of you "builders" tell us all about how these engines are "better".

Remove the engine cover on the passenger side. At the front of the engine buried under some items is the name plate facing forward. Get a good flash light and look for it. This assumes you have a GS coupe M6 car... Al

Hey all
There is another thread posting LS3 dry sump builds. It is Who Built your LS3 dry sump engine. I started that previous to this thread but it kinda got lost.
Pretty sure only the dry sump LS3's were hand built by one builder. They are also only manual shift cars.
One of my fellow engine builders, Tom Taylor, bought a new GS while working at Wixom. He built his own engine. So he has his name on the engine in his orange GS. How cool is that!

I unfortunately do not have a dry sump M6 GS. God bless the assembly robots that did piece my 2012 GS together. I love it!!!! The C6 GS is still a head turner.

I posted this last month;

Does your car have the remote oiling dry sump? It will have the builder's name plate IF it is a GS, coupe, M6 car, unless it has been removed. You need to remove the passenger engine cover to see it. Are the original owner and know the history of the car? Maybe show us a picture of your engine... Al
