Default Which Oil to Use for C6 LS3

This has probably been asked many times but couldn't find any posts. Which one would be the best as far as against viscosity. Overall best protection Thanks.

the recommended oil is 5W-30, full synthetic, meeting GM4718M spec. Mobil 1 is the first fill from the factory.

Notice the list of oils, but the weight of oil is specified in your owner's manual.

I am simply amazed that a search about oil to use did not turn up anything. I love the topic but it seems to discussed, at length, at least every month....

Were you also wondering which radar detector or which wax to use?
Manual or Auto? Z51 or F55? Z06 or GS?

Yeah, the "Z06 vs GS" and "manual vs auto" threads really bring out the best in people........

Best? 0-30 German Castrol or Amsoil. SOmething group IV.

Smartest? Whatever the dealership puts in there. Hard for them to say that the oil was the cause of frying your engine (on the off-chance it DOES occur). If you leave the car 100% stock, I would just let them service it. Builds that "relationship" and makes future dealings easier. Magnussen blahblahblah. Hard to argue the above logic.

I have found that using Google for the search works better. You just add "site:corvetteforum.com" to the end of your search term and it will only find posts here. It currently says there are about 7,250 threads here that contain the word oil but only 92 with the term "which oil". That drops to 52 if you insist it must also contain the term C6. Now if you refine it to "which oil should I use" you end up with a single posting ( http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1545701008-post27.html ) which has nothing to do with which oil to use but appears to be the only time that phrase has ever been used on this forum. You would never discover that trivia (or at least not easily) using the forum search facility.

See? There are no dumb questions - just smart-a@@ answers.

If you really want to know what oil you should use, I suggest www.bobistheoilguy.com
They have users there who know the addpacks, etc. They base the oil they run off of UOA's and use what works.

It's just a little hard to believe this question still must be asked...what does the manual say? The oil filler cap?
