Default OK Detail Geniuses, a question...

You have just clayed and washed your 2007 DD Vette. Paint is in excellent shape. Very little swirl or scratches going on.

You can apply one product by hand.

What do you apply?

If there is little to no swirls and you want the paint protected then use a type of carnauba wax. Sometimes I would use show glazes instead when I had my cobra, but they were specifically made glazes for black cars. But a hand wax would be your best option.

Oh, and let's assume you are going to be using this product for a while.

How often?

My question is if you're really looking to protect the paint of a DD car, why are you only going to put one coat of something on it?

Trying to find a product that I can use on a regular basis, but I don't have time for multiple coats at one setting.

I mean I can wash the car every Saturday. I have that down to a science, even managing to spend a little extra time on the wheels.

But looking for something I can put on every other week or once a month in a one-coat-one-application setting.

Been using NXT about every six weeks or so, but there are a lot of Canuba fans on here.

I'd love to be able to spend a day laying a coat of glaze or polish, followed by a sealer, and maybe even a Canuba after that, but I don't have that kinda time.

Zaino z5pro mixed with zfx, three coats in one sitting. instructions on his site. Its easy, will fill any left over minor swirls, and will last a long time, its not water soluble like carnuba...its a polymer.

I mean, it's really hard to argue with the multi-step Zaino process but I don't have that much time.

Ahhhh gotcha...That makes sense.

With me I don't DD the car...but I polish, glaze, then wax the car, and when I get home from driving take detailer spray and my microfibers and wipe down the whole car to get the dirt off. It does not scratch my clear coat like so many people say it will because I have a thick protection of product over the paint. So that might be something you could do when you have a whole time of time (if you ever do that is).

multi step? its not different that any thing else. he asked what to put on the car, its been clayed and preped. you apply a coat of zaino.. i suggested 3 at once cause you can do that using the zfx additive... you dont have to. just add 1 coat if thats what you want. either his All In One or his z5pro... just like you would any other product.

most people get confused about this "multi step" thing because on the site he walks you through all the right things to do before applying his polish... those steps apply to any product out there, ie: proper wash, proper clay bar, etc.

you can apply the zfpro and it layers with the next application... a week or month later... his All In one has solvents so it does not layer but does give a great shine and protection.

I use the z5pro..and stack it...

If you'd buy a machine, hire someone to apply the Zaino if you don't have the time.

OK, I get it. I'm sorta familiar with the additive.

I really believe that just about anything would be fine if got done once a month. Truth be told my truck and wifes suv only get done once or twice a year and the paint is still fine after five years of MN winters.
