Default Painted yellow marker lights? Anyone do it?

I'm thinking of tinting the markers and tails but I like the idea of having them painted yellow to match. I searched and only saw one Z that did and they were no longer functional. Is there a way to paint/tint the markers yellow to match the body panel but still have light pass through and still be functional? If you can tint it with black, surely you can tint with yellow, I'd think. Anyone...anyone...?

Totally agree that the red and amber side marker lights detract from any color corvette. Mine was easy as it is Blade Silver and I simply replaced the colored side markers with the clear ones available from Josh at RPI. Perhaps you could order the clear units and have them fogged or misted with VY and then install the red and amber LED bulbs so as to be close to legal at night. I would also like to find some clear tail light lenses. So far, I have only been able to source the chrome trimmed LED tail lights with the red reflector in the center. The chrome looks a bit "cheap" to me and there appears to be a black trim ring or gasket on the outer perimeter that stands out. If anyone knows of some plain clear lenses with just the colored LEDs behind the lens please let me know. Here's mine with the clear sides.

That chrome looks great! I like the idea of misting the chrome ones. I was thinking about getting some factory amber ones and testing a light coat of yellow rattle can with clearcoat. Just wanted to get some (better) ideas before toying with that one.

Bump this. I'm seriously getting ready to paint my markers yellow and would love some more insight. On another note, I'm going to tint the tails with that nightshade stuff.

Perforated yellow vinyl might do it

If you are going to paint them, I think you should start with the clear side markers.

By the time you put on enough paint to cover the OEM's, especially the red ones, they will probably be opaque.

I'm ok with opaque. I'm not trying to retain the functionality of them.

Looks great and they are still functional, I'm sure. Will you tint your headlights?

these were just painted with the body colour paint which is metallic. What they did was mix the paint with clear and then spray them. I did the rear, sides and fog lights

I have no desire to tint my headlights, we have deer all over the place where I live and I want to be able to see them. I did not spray my rear lights I tinted them.

I'm not in to the whole monochrome look, too played out. I'd go with a light smoke tint.

So which is it, do you want them to be functional or not? I'm curious how this turns out for you. I've never seen anything but the clear and blacked out lights.

Like I later said, I'm no longer concerned about functionality. I think opaque yellow will look best.

you can easily just paint them yellow and they wont work. but if you find a good painter they can ''tint'' some clear coat yellow and slowly layer it till lights appear yellow but still allow some light to pass through. id start with clear housing if you want them to work.

i have just painted over reflector and turn signals on several cars. you just scuff and shoot just like normal.

I had mine done about 2 years ago. They were tinted first then pin striped and painted to match. When you do do then make sure the small lettering is sanded down first.

That is a beautiful and super clean look! I am definitely in the monochromatic camp.
