Does your dealer have allocation small dealers don't have as fast access as large dealers.

Definitely the right direction.

Then why did the car numbered #14,444 have a plaque on the front saying last 2011?

true, i have not dealt with this dealer before and the are a smaller dealer but i was assured they had an allocation. CB was on constraint till last week. i am going to give em another week then i'll move on. the plant is down but i assume they are still planning production so i should see my order move. i've been at 2030 basically 1102 for weeks...

I guess GM will have to answer that. According to information released by GM, that they publish on their website for "Investors", the number of 2011 Corvettes built is 13,596.

I don't know if you are aware, but if you saw a C6 with the last 5 digits of that particular car's VIN being 14,444, that there were more then that number of C6's actually built. Are you aware that there are three C6's with the last five digits of the VIN being 00001, or even 00156 or 00252? In fact there are 252 C6's(Z06 Carbon) with duplicate VIN numbers regarding the last five digits in addition to other C6's plus additional C6's(ZR1's) that have duplicate last five digits of the VIN above 00252.

If the number on the build sheet is not the VIN number, then what number is it? What does it represent?

Then GM must have lost 848 inside the plant, of those 14,444 C6's as they have reported that 13,596 2011 C6's were built. GM hasn't released the breakdown of the 2011 production, but will shortly, and we will see how many of each color, each option, each style, etc and we will see if they total 13,596 or 14,444.

The only way I can see that 14,444 C6,s were built is if the number of Base C6's, Grand Sports and std Z06's total 13,596(that they reported as total number of C6's built) and then there were 252 Z06 Carbons built, and 596 ZR1's were built. That would then add up to 14,444.

But, GM goes in great detail listing their production numbers and they say the MYTD (model year to date)net June is 13,596 units.

4300 unsold MY10's on lot's, that number is alarming

lack of marketing? Kerbeck won't sit on 2010's(I assume......)

Check the dates I posted. I was comparing July 2, 2010 to July 2, 2011.

Today, July 10, 2011, there are only 268 unsold 2010's.

The good sign is that GM produced 1402 more Corvettes in 2011 then in 2010, and at the and of 2011 production the sales of 2011's are much better then last year, at the same time.

Not the smartest marketing move (most manufacturers have BOTH model years by now), but maybe they have some kind of agreement with dealers not to market new models until most '11s are gone; who knows. Later.
