Seriously? Out here, where we drive our cars winter and summer, the batteries will last a good 8-10 years.

My 2005 C6 needs a new battery.
Can I just disconnect the old one and drop in a new one.
Or are there any special preceedures I need to know about ???

Thanks in advance

A dead battery is nothing to be embarrassed about....it happens. Your battery simply reached the end of its (quite decent) service life. Frankly, considering the battery's age, you should have looked into replacing it the first time it caused you a problem. Replace it!

it's got to be the battery from what you described. I also have led's that stay dimly lit and it hasn't affected my 06 base yet and mine sits most of the time cause the 2 kids can't go in it..... Mine has a duralast gold 90-dlg and it seems to work well (i think autozone sells it) I have a ctek-3300 charger on the way though cause i hope i don't have the same situation you had.... Good luck.

PS where is it that you guys go on SI? I grew up on SI and don't live far now, would love to check it out one of these days.......

After the new battery is installed, you will need to reset the window indexing.

With the engine running and the window down, close the car door. Raise the window and hold the up switch an extra 3 seconds. Release. Without lowering the window, hold the up switch again for 3 seconds. Release. Done. Don't forget the other window. (This is in the owner's manual.)
