Default Best dealer service in st.Louis mo.

I just got my first Corvette and I would like your input on the best dealer to deal with and there service here in St.Louis. If you have had a great experience with a certain dealer i would really like to know.We have had chevys for a long time and I have had great experiences with some dealers and not so great with others.
I would just like to start out on the right foot and not stumble over my left!!

Thanks
Nick Gaines

Hello Nick;

This should have been posted in the Corvette Forum > Upcoming Events and Regional Discussion >
Great Lakes Illinois | Indiana | Iowa | Michigan | Missouri | Minnesota | Ohio | Wisconsin

Maybe a moderator will move it?

In answer to your question, I do all my own work 'cept for warranty issues, which I've had not of with my 2009. So I cannot speak from experience.
However, I've heard good things at this site about Elco Chevrolet on Manchester Road in Ballwin, MO.
YMMV.

fnbrowing,

First--This is a General Discussion site and asking about a dealer is a General Discussion question.

Second--I do not understand why you would feel you should answer a question about a business with out having any knowlege of the business I was asking about.(In answer to your question, I do all my own work 'cept for warranty issues, which I've had not of with my 2009. So I cannot speak from experience.)

Third --I'm sure if a moderator had any problem with my question they would have contacted me just like any other site.

Fourh-- I would like to thank you for making my second post on this site one I felt I needed to defend. Maybe next time you feel you would like to police this site and play moderator you should leave it to the moderators and not the (ARM CHAIR SITE POLICE!!)

Thanks,
Nick Gaines

Well- he had that coming I suppose. So Nick- may I ask who you finally decided to use for service in the St Louis area? I recently purchased a C7, and while my purchase experience with the dealership was favorable, the online reviews (and reviews from people I know who have personal experience) are abysmal. So I'm looking for a reputable dealer for routine service and otherwise. I've heard good things about a dealer in Herculaneum, but it's quite a ways from me. Any one you could recommend would be much appreciated.

I have had 6 Corvettes to date. Over the years it has been pretty well known that Elco Chevrolet on Manchester Road were top Corvette specialist in metro St. Louis. I've never been there myself. Living on the east side, I have always received top notch service from WEBER Chevrolet in Granite City. They have dealerships in Creve Couer & Waterloo as well. They have a Corvette tech that has been great.
I talk about one of my experiences in this thread:

I have bought 3 Vettes and 3 Tahoes from Elco, and their service is outstanding, and I highly recommend them.

They have always treated me fairly, and they generally have their corvette specialist work on the vettes. I also had my C5 in their body shop. It got t-boned in the left rear wheel, cracked the tub, so all of the rear had to come off, and a new tub glued in. They did an excellent job, you could not tell any work had been done on the car.

They sell most of the vettes in the area, and are welll schooled in vette repair.

Hey Nick - I can't speak for any of the ST. Louis dealers, as I too, live on the East side for the creek. I bought my 2006 A6 used from Bob Brockland GMC in Columbia. I have had it down there for the Headlight recall and 2 oil changes, and have been very well satisfied with their service. I bought a new Buick Enclave from them in '09, and have also been very satisfied with their service. Just a thought.

Darn Nick....I want you on my football team as you play a heck of a defense, even if it is a little bit of over-kill. My short story on Elco is this. Talked to a service person once about having my balancer replaced at Elco but I wanted to use an aftermarket part. The service person said that he would talk to their resident Corvette expert named "Corvette ****". The service person contacted me after talking with Corvette *** and said that yes they would put an aftermarket piece on and Corvette *** said its the best way to go to solve the balancer problem. So I go to Elco to talk to **** and he says that I should replace it with a stock GM piece. HUH ?? I can only come up with one reason why any Corvette expert would recommend replacing an obviously faulty part with another new obviously faulty part. Do what you will with this info.

Nick's a good guy, met him not all that long ago. Excited to get to know some of the clubs here in stl as I have just purchased my first vette; a 50th Anniversary.

Achieve, what part of the St Louis do you live in? Just attended a car show out on Mid Rivers Dr put on by Boone Trail CC. The OCC, Original Corvette Club, is another one. They are mainly in the south St Louis area around Gravois Mills Rd.

Thanks New, unfortunately I have limited time so for now I need to stay south but hopefully before too long I'll be able to spend more time outside the studio. I'll definitely check you guys out though. Cheers!

Kinda harsh on fnbrowning if you ask me. I know a few Elco techs and would trust them for routine maintenance. Like fnbrowning, I do most of my own work tho.

Google doesn't discriminate. We bust peoples ***** for not searching, and then we bust them again if they do it and reply to an old thread. People need to lighten up IMO.

Yipper to that. From time to time I will ask a question and if no one has experianced the problem I may wait and try the question again in 6 months or so. I don't see anything at all wrong with that as new info could come in at anytime. But some people seem to have a problem with it. This is especially bad in the Harley forum. Well thats just to bad.
