As long as you can't catch those scratches with your fingernail they can still be polished out. I wish you lived near Boston, I'd do it for you.

Thanks! I am going to buy a D.A. Polisher, and try to get the scratches out 100%....None of them are finger nail deep....Thanks for the tips and ideas...That garage opener/rails/etc is very old. I bought the house in 2008 (garage is a detached 24x24 2 car garage, but the previous owner of the house had the same system in there for YEARS! It just sucks that it takes this incident for me to replace everything. I am in the process of re-doing my whole garage. It is insulated, dry walled so far. I have purchased all the VCT tiles (black and white, checkered pattern.

What I want to do to finish:

-grind floor down, install the tiles
-new roof
-new garage door opener/rails (1st priority now obviously)
-new garage door eventually (insulated one)
-finish the spackling and paint on dry wall
-new windows
-run gas to it so i can heat it/maybe run a window unit a/c for the summer?

Like I said in earlier posts, that Quixx stuff is amazing. Without having a DA polisher, and all by hand that stuff was crazy!!

What stuff do you guys recommend to use when I get my DA polisher? Scratch X, turtle wax rubbing compound???

THANKS!
