Clicking noise when car is rolling
I have a 2009 6-man LS3 coupe w/25k mi. Stock except for an intake.
I searched the threads but didn't find anything similar. I was driving the car normally on a rough road when this clicking sound showed up. The engine is fine as I have full power and there's no noise when idling. When the car is rolling, I seem to be able to feel the clicking through the shifter.
I rolled forward and back at low speed in my driveway and the noise seems to originate at the rear end of the driveline. Driving under load seems to quiet it down and it's louder when coasting and in gear. Depressing the clutch makes the noise go away. I'm able to engage all gears and honestly, the car drives normally except
for the loud clicking.
I think the axle nut TSB only applies to noise when turning. This happens when in a straight line. Anybody have this happen to them? I'm still under powertrain warranty so that's my next step. Just want to find out what I can.
Thanks

This may or may not be the answer as I'm new to the vette community, but back when I had a 350 we had issues with the rear diff making a clicking noise similar to this. It just needed to be rel-ubed.

I had some time today so I jacked up the rear to look around. Lug nuts were tight. I didn't see anything awry under the rear when climbing under. Discouraged, I dropped it down and decided to drive it again to see if I could pinpoint the noise. It made the noise as I pulled out onto the street until I hit a big bump. After that, quiet! I can only speculate that a rock or road debris got lodged somewhere and it got dislodged. A 45min test drive and the noise
hasn't come back. Go figure...
