Default polishing inside notched exhaust tips?

Just got a used Z06 with Borla exhaust. The tips need some serious cleaning. I was going to buy one of those kits that supporting vendors sell on here, but I don't think they will help me get under the notches inside of the tips. Anyone ever clean and polish inside an exhaus tip like this? I am thinking toothbrush with some baking soda?

Is this a stinger system? I just purchased an ATAK system with the same tips, I don't see any easy way of cleaning them. Tooth brush may not be a bad idea.

the kit will do it, if its the right one, it comes with the necessary drill attachments to get into the areas you need it to... it hones it out.

Purchased the car used. I am the 3d owner and the original owner put the exhaust on. The for sale ad just said "Borla". My guess is that its the Stingers, but I didn't know other systems had the same tips.

The kits sold by vendors on here have 2-3 different polishes. Course and fine, use these before using the Simichrome. This will make it easier. With a stock system , it is impossible to get the buffers between the tips and had to do it by hand on a rag.

I use a toothbrush and chrome polish for the tough stains. Quick, easy, and works great. For general washing I use a "spoke" brush.

How about a nylon (brass might be too much) gun barrel cleaning brush (could be used on a drill)?

I like Blue Magic liquid polish...

To remove all of the black buildup on the exhaust, spray a little bug and tar cleaner on a rag and wipe the exhaust clean. The black comes right off. Then use the exhaust polisher to shine the exhaust tips. This is the easiest way I've found to keep the tips shiny and clean.
After each drive, I wipe the tips down while they're still warm. Works great.

Fyi.

To make the job easier, go NAPA and buy a bottle of Aluminum Brightener, spray it on and watch it dissolve all the grimes. It will also dissolve discoloration from heat and meld scales from welding!

It is acid based, so you need to read the direction and have PPE on hand.
