I have a "new" 2008 only 2K miles, I have the rearend chatter when first driven in the morning at low speeds while turning. Did research on the forum and I guess this is normal. question is?
Is this the latest tsb on this problem? My Vette was built 10/26 before this tsb was issued.

Since I bought this Vette new from the dealer 2 months ago (warranty started 2/2012) does this mean they will perform this tsb "free" and I will get the new updated rearend fluid? My 2008 has the Z51 package if that makes a difference. Thanks for the help in advance.

Just swap the fluid for the new stuff and that should fix it.Mine was done under warranty on my 08.If that doesn't fix it the the clutch paks might need replacing. After the fluid swap the car was quiet as a mouse. WARRANTY!

My '08 was built May 7, 2008, and I assume it had the new fluid from the factory. However, I noticed some chatter last year as well. I changed the fluid myself and the problem went away.
However, I realized the chatter materialized after winter sleep. Now, every Spring, I find an empty parking lot, and drive in tight circles - left and right. This gets the clutches working and they will get coated with the posi fluid.
I would suggest that since your C6 has the old style fluid, get the fluid changed. Then once or twice a year, do the circle thing.
I would also assume that a lot of light and easy straight line driving will not work the clutches very much.
Lucky you living in Hawaii - no winter sleep required.
Hope this helps,

Thanks guys I will be calling my deal tech on Monday, to complain about the rearend chatter, give him the tsb and ask for the warranty coverage. He is a great guy and will take care of me.

It's a GM Tech bulletin, Not uncommon, if still have a warranty it's covered. Get the rear differential fluid changed. You could even do a quick by doing figure 8's backwards (slowly in a parking lot). It will come back though.

Lots of members on here have also found the swap to Amsoil Severe synthetic Gear Oil and Amsoil synthetic friction modifier to solve this problem. It's an easy do-it-yourself-job. You can do a search on here for step by step instructions

I changed hy fluid this spring. I manually spun the wheels forward and back while still on the jacks, I let the car set over night the noise was gone when I backed out of the garage. I have not accomplished figure 8's, a few sharp turns in the normal course of driving is all.
