Default Leather dash Warping

This happen to anyone else? This is on my 09 ZR1 that is a garage queen and has only 6k miles. I haven't gone to the dealer yet but i have a feeling they're going to tell me its out of warranty and to fly a kite. I may call GM and complain.

UPDATE 1/15/14

The dash came in and the dealer claims GM wants me to pay $1,000 of the $3,200 cost. My service write said he could lower this to $500 some way (im assuming lower their profit?). Ive called GM customer care various times and today they finally told me this is the best they are going to do. Its outrageous for me to have to pay $500 to replace a defective dashboard on a $120k flagship vehicle with 7,000 miles.

I guess I will bite the bullet and pay the $500 but I am still infuriated by this. Does anyone know if they have dealer reps come by the dealer periodically? I asked and they told me this never occurs unless a tech cant figure out an issue with a car.

Ack! Totally and completely unacceptable, IMO. I would totally take this up with GM. If they give you the runaround, aim your guns higher! Best of luck!

There have been several others discussed here.

Here's one, that had a positive outcome, but a few others chime in with less than positive responses from GM:

It's a fairly common issue with 4LT. And a warm climate. The glue dries out and the whole thing lets loose.

If it's fairly common lets gets some more examples! I just read a
thread from two years ago about one car. In that thread ten year members never saw it before! Neither have I!
Lets see some more cars like this!

Sorry, but I would come unglued especially with a ZR1!

Unless that was a flood car from the hurricanes, I personally would be raising holy hell...

That's really bad. I'm sure they will step up and do the right thing.

Wow, I have seen this before on the forum but that is by far the worst I've seen. That shouldn't happen on 3-4 year old car for sure. Hopefully you can get help from GM on this. Start with a dealer and work your way up if you have to. The reps that troll the forum may or may not be any help. It seems they are hit and miss on helping people resolve problems but worth a try.

That is my thread. I had great service from my dealer. I would contact your dealer first and see if they can resolve the matter. If not, I would contact the cust service rep here on the forum.

Good luck and let us know your outcome.

I don't think it's common but that doesn't make it suck any less when it happens to you.
Hopefully the dealer will do right by you.

I see a couple comments below about the A pillars bubbling. That is not a 4LT issue. The A pillars are the same in all the cars.

I have seen this detaching with my A pillars on my 08 1LT. Only in the heat of a hot summer day though. When it cools off it goes back to normal.

I am rather surprised to see this with leather.

GM must use the same adhesive for both materials.

Just another indication of shoddy research being done on suppliers.

That is grotesque
Surely, GM will come good for that fix, whether it's in warranty or not.
They can use the customer goodwill clause

Good Luck

Wow! Did that just happen or was it a gradual thing? Good luck with the repair. Seen one or two other threads here with similar problem. Love the 4LT look, but glad mine's a 3LT.
