Do YOU Carry T-HOOKS and Straps IF Vette needs to be Pulled/Towed
I'm putting together gear to carry with me IF ever I should need
to be pulled up onto a flatbed wrecker or into a trailer.
Asking if ANYBODY else is prepared OR had an incident where the tow
truck driver didnt have correct gear and did WHAT to pull/tow your C6???
Dont know what damage the below yellow strap may do to front splitter ?? My splitter
does have some give/flexabilty so may be OK ??

Nevermind. I misread. I initially thought you were planning to tow your C6 from the splitter.
I do not carry anything personally. Probably should.

I don't carry anything. I just make sure to let the tow company know that they have to bring 2x6's or they'll damage my car, and that I have to have a flatbed. Been towed a couple of times with no issues at all. Last tow driver actually had special ramps that raised the level of the flatbed as they tow many exotic cars. I'll definitely be using them again if need be.

I don't want to carry around 100 LBS of stuff that I don't need. The tow truck should have the correct hooks. The only thinks that I carry are a lithium jump box, bottle of green slime, air pump, and one quart of oil.

Get a tow hook. I've been thinking of that myself in case I need a tow.

I have over 80K miles of road trips on this vehicle, and I don't carry a tow hook. I operate with non runflats, carry a can of slime, a compressor, a kit with tire plugs and T handles for the plug tools, and a pair of side cutter pliers to cut the plugs that stick out, and or remove a nail or screw that are in the tire causing the leak.
I've used the plug kit once on a 3 week road trip. It was a back tire, was able to see the screw that was causing my slow leak, removed the screw with the side cutters, plugged the tire with the plug kit, and that plug was still in the tire when I purchased my next set of new tires about 9 months later.
If I need a tow truck, I'll tell them what I have so they jnow it's a low rider, need a flatbed and 2x6 to get it on the ramp. They have the tow hooks that fit into the side rails that take the jacking pucks.
I don't have a front splitter, so the tow strap will not do much damage if any to the rubber/plastic air dams

Woulda, Shouda, Coulda............
Buying / Installing a TOW HOOK is pretty LABOR Intensive is it NOT ???
My thought to have 5lbs/$40 worth of Hooks and Straps might well save
me some heartache IF EVER I need to be Towed/Pulled by XYZ Tow
Company or John Doe doesnt have the proper gear to engage my frame.

It's not the easiest job to install a tow hook, from what I've seen, but you wouldn't be worrying if you ever needed a tow.

If (heaven forbid) my car ever had to be towed and the tow truck showed up without T hooks and a Y strap he would not be towing my car.

Most flatbed drivers will have hooks that work. The bigger problem is finding a flatbed that has a low enough angle to get o to it.
If you want to carry anything, youd want some big planks.

Agree with most of what’s posted above.
In addition, towing is more about the care level and experience of the tow driver than the equipment used. And I don’t know how many would use some straps provided by the car owner anyway.
And what’s up with all the colors with your posts? It’s almost as bad as all caps or big fonts and no need for it.

No way is a tow truck driver going to use your supplies. Let them know you have a Corvette and they will come prepared.

If you use this stuff, you will ruin your tire pressure sensors

your safest bet is to spend the money and buy a front tow hook. The real issue is on a C6 you have to remove the front bumper cover to mount the hook. I also have the splitter and I had to have mine towed a month ago. I was lucky and it was at home so I was able to jack it up and remove the splitter before the flatbed arrived. They (or at least this company) attaches their hooks in the front puck location, but he admitted that is I had left the splitter on, it most likely would have been damaged by the cables. That is why a front hook can be a life saver.

Can somebody with FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE write more about a Flat Bed Wrecker
using 2x8 Wood "planks" to make the transition from the Pavement onto The Deck
easier.........Any pictures ?????
Im planning on using my T-Hooks and TWO 1"x6' Two Ply Straps to pull my 12 Grand Sport
into my enclosed trailer with the Elec Winch.......This transition wont be as bed as the going
onto a Wrecker Deck..............but I am worried about my Splitter if ever I was pulled onto a
wrecker ????
