Default Dual Disc Clutches

Looking for experiences good, bad, ugly. Have 650 hp motor in 2006 Z-06. Smoothness, chatter, etc.

I'm interested in hearing feedback on the subject too. My car is at Katech right now. Originally they were going to put in a Fidanza twin disc kevlar cluth which Jason had in his car. It was rated for 650 hp but it started slipping. Jason upgraded his and now Katech recommends a twin disc ceramic clutch from Exedy which cost considerable more.

The feeback I've had on ceramic is it's great for racing but not favorable for every day driving (chatter or it's on/off). Although I should point out Jason says it's smooth.

Anyone have personal experience with these in a Z06? I want the performance improvement, but I don't want something that's not driver friendly.

Katech put the Exedy in my Street Attack Z06, which I use as a daily driver.

I find that, in my car, engagement is late, very quick from off-to-on, and smooth. No chatter or other issues.

I'm planning some upgrades that will put me in the same power level soon, so I've been wondering the same thing. After emailing several vendor's, I am going with the Textralia Exo Skel.

Anybody here have this clutch setup?

I know that A&A Corvette and East Coast Superchargers (both vendors here) carry that clutch.

Three words: Exedy Twin Disk

Exedy has a twin sprung hub. You get the holding power of ceramic, and the drivability of a sprung hub.

I have used ceramic as well as sintered iron and everything in between, over 15 clutches in the last 4 cars/ 10 years. Either they were on/off or did not hold long. The ram dual w/ the 300 series stock/type friction is the closest to stock feel I have found and holds like the space shuttle strapped onto a solid rocket booster, but that damn rattle at idle makes u want to hide your face at the red light cause it sounds like a POS. I will say that after what I have put my cars through and experience, in drag racing, I will always dead-hook the tires and let the clutch dampen the shock while not giving way and the ram does just that. Jason says it is smooth, I tend to take his word for it and would like to try it.......in someone elses car. Let me drive yours and u can drive mine (just wear ear plugs when u push the pedal in...rattle rattle)

And if you should describe it , compared to stock clutch.

5%, 50% or 100% more heavy ?
Noise, clatter ?
Slippage when releasing ?

I mean , the Z06 clutch is a beauty to use

Do you also change flywheel ?

Any weight savings ?

And while i am at it, can you deliver TR6060 transmission with different 5th gear ?

TIA

JHebert....Just finished installing the RAM clutch...300 material dual disc with aluminum flywheel....Have been driving it around a few days now.
They must have fixed the rattle with some sort of update??...Mine has NONE!!!!

NO RATTLE, NO CHATTER...SMOOTH AS STOCK!!! RAM CLUTCH After putting this in I wont run anything else!! Time to put it to the test at the next heads up event with the 16" hoosiers...

I have been using Ram for a while. Had them in my C4 and the twin disc in my GTO. Drives great, and holds awesome.

The ceramic was not streetable and the kevlar didn't have the torque capacity I was looking for.
