Chip, can you please post pictures for an ACTUAL Z06 unit? I searched your website, and could not find a picture.

Just checked Airaid's website, and noticed that they have a oiled and non-oiled version. Does the non-oiled filter flow as well as the oiled? If so, the non-oiled would be best not to contaminate the MAF with oil.

They are both great units, and very well made. I like the polished interior of the Airaid. The walls of the airbridge on the Airaid are significantly thicker and there are no seams...

Here is Airaids flow test results for the Synthamax

http://www.airaid.com/smax_flow_test_page.html

Airaid does not have the flow info on the oiled filter on the web site.

The only way your MAF gets fouled is if the filter is over oiled. Not
really a function of the Intake, but more the person that over oiled
the filter.

Non oiled filters do not filter as well as oiled filters.

The non oiled filters are mostly used on FI cars. FI cars tend to
suck the oil right out of the filter.

That is a straight intake swap with 200 miles post installation.

So basically you are saying that the new unit with the non-oiled filter does not flow as well as the oiled one, correct?

I do not have the oiled filter numbers, as stated above.

The general rule is that oiled filters are less restrictive.

Let me put another way... For a street car, (basic Bolt on's) it does not
really matter. Both flow significantly more air than OEM. The difference
would not be noticeable.

This install takes less than 30 minutes and is very easy. The unit's quality is excellent. I had it on my o8Z and very happy , no codes, great price.

Hey Chip, can you advise if the if the 2008 Z06 part # is the same for the 2011 Z06? I think it is 250-216? I took my filter off of my 2008 Z when I sold it and it was pretty new then. I just picked up a 2011 and wanted to put it on. Thanks Jim

Jim

Should be no problem - part number is the same for both years
