I'm picking up my new 2011 ZR1 and driving to one of these guys for mods.
Who do we prefer?
Katech has a new stage 3 kit
Lingenfelter has their 710HP kit
What are your thoughts about these companies? Anyone had experience with either?

Either one is top notch. I might give a slight nudge to Lingenfelter because of their 3 yr warrantee and their badge/name is more recognizable outside of hardcore which may add a little more value to the car in the future. Jmo

Wow, you're wasting no time...![Cheers!](https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/images/smilies/cheers2.gif)
Either choice is a good one although Katech has extensive experience and success in the Corvette Racing program. They would get the nod from me.
Good luck with your new ZR1!!!...

Of the two I have personal experience with the Lingenfelter guys. They do a good job.

I have experience with Katech - not on my ZR1, but on my Z-06.
Great shop, great folks, straight shooters. I wouldn't hesitate at all letting Katech touch my rig. I have no experience with Lingenfelter.

Sorry to put this out, but you asked. A c6 owner I drive with at the track has a Lingenfelter engine upgrade.
About a month ago I spoke to him, and I came away amazed that he told me of his problems, because I too had a favorable impression of their operation. In this case there was 1) a product failure, 2) a reluctance on the part of Lingenfelter to warranty their work, followed by 3) a determination that the head bolts were incorrectly torqued by the operation which caused the problem. I suppose now that John is gone maybe things have changed.
Having just run with Katech at the track attack in June, I hold only the highest regard for their operation. They supplied the engines for the Corvette race team that won LeMans fer cryin out loud.
Go Katech.

I just did lingenfelter 710 kit and kooks headers and liked the lingenfelter stuff better. I will let you know how it goes. I know the guy said install was fairly simple.

No I ordered kooks seperate. I really like the quality of kooks and could get them at cost so I went with there set up. 2" tubes to 3" collectors and high flow cats. Then magnaflow exhaust. Dynoed 528 rwhp and 510 trq stock.

As others have pointed out, I don't think you'll go wrong with ether one, however, why not just drive it as it comes for a while? If there are any issues with the stock setup it would be much easier to have them corrected before adding the aftermarket stuff, would it? Anyway, enjoy the new ride!!

Signed an agreement with Lingenfelter.
I'm fixing the long three year wait and doing the mods now when it's easy for me to get to Indiana from BG.
I've owned many new cars and never had an issue with anything mechanical. I've delivered tens of thousands of new cars to customers as a GM dealer, and less than 1% had any mechanical issue at delivery. I'm doing it now because if I wait till the cars out of warranty, it will never happen. My last car was an '09 ZR1 sold 3 months ago. Before that an '06 Z06. Get my point?
Thank you all for your input. It's helped greatly!
All things being about equal as far as quality of work, I figured I'd go with the closer company to Bowling Green. I'm paying more at Lingenfelter, but I'm doing more than the Stage 3 at Katech.
I'll certainly post the progress and dyno results before and after.

I wanted to do your seats and asked each tuner about the install. The timing just doesn't seem to be there. They said you need my old seats to be shipped to them, and shipped back. There goes two weeks. Then, we know your great work isn't fast. They, and I, just didn't see how we could get it done fast enough to get back to me by the end of October or there about.
I'm sorry about our previous e-mail mixup. I just wasn't getting your responses. I understand I wasn't the only one.
I do admire your magnificent workmanship. I was actually considering Katech very hard, partly because of their proximity to you!

I accept your call, and I will go get my friend's story and come back to you all on this post. I am not a trying to create a flame here against Lingenfelter - there's no mileage either way for me in bashing any company and that is certainly not my intention. But I will call it out for what it is. It is a bona fide situation; not invented.
Later.
