Default Buying a ZR1 October, what about a C7?

Hey guys,
I am finally able to purchase a ZR1, the Car of My Dreams. However, I have been thinking lately about getting a 2011 Black One, or ordering a 2012, but I was told the 2012 does not come in Black. So I compared the differences and it turned out to be just the Michelin Cup Tires, and the Interior looks slightly different. However, I plan on having Caravaggio seats installed anyways.

So my question is, please tell me if I am thinking in the right direction or not? a 2011 black, change the seats, already has the upgrades on the transmission and suspension. Not different than a 2012?

When is the C7 Coming Out? Soon?

Please let me know what you guys think !! Thanks !!

go with the centennial ZR1, you get black, you get exclusivity, and you get an awesome once in a generation corvette...don't hold out for the C7, get what you can now, because once that C7, given past histories with new gens, comes out, there will be a mad dash to get whats left of the true, over the top corvettes, which are the 2009-2012 ZR1's. Just me thoughts...

The 2012s come in black - its just not the usual black. It's beautiful in person. The new seats are nice. But I was a little concerned on the new interior how the 'suede' will hold up. But, as Russell said - a 2012 is going to be a one of a kind in this generation of ZR1s. Good luck with your decision.

In speaking with some people in the "know" with out mentioning names we will likely see a C7 as a 2014 model and a convertible probably 5-6 months later and then a high performance (Z06/ZR1) type the following year. And with CAFE reg getting tougher....who can tell just how high perf it will be. Dont wait enjoy a ZR1 now......Life is short!

Get the C6 ZR1. I don't care what anyone says, there's no way the C7 can be any better than a C6 ZR1. Get it now and enjoy it now!

C7 seems to be 2 years away. If they follow past practice then higher performance models (i.e. Z-06/ZR1) would follow a year or two after that.

Do you want to wait 4 years to be driving a vette?

The answer to that question will illuminate your path forward.

With a 2011 ZR1 in the garage, it will be a long time before a C7 arrives that will get my interest.
