Do two rong seams make a right? How do you get a driver's license these days. I thought you had to be able to spell your name.

It is 6 years/100K. I had a couple of GM cars repainted in their 6th year due to the paint peeling off the roof.

67redrat,
Paint is covered under your 3 year/36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. However, even while you're under warranty the paint coverage is limited to manufacturer defects. If you have any further questions, comments or concerns about anything please don't hesitate to contact me.

All I know is they painted two of cars in my family that had paint peeling. I thought they would do just the hood, roof and trunk lid but they did the whole car and they painted my daughter's car a month later. Both cars were the same year, brand, and model GM car. Both were repainted just before they reached their 6 year in service date. The peeling paint was a factory defect and there were many cars like those two.

Clif,
I think there may have been some confusion. Corvette's Bumper to Bumper Coverage is for the first 3 years or 36,000 miles,
whichever comes first. The Powertrain Coverage is for 5 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Finally, Corrosion coverage is for the first 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. However, keep in mind, paint is only covered under bumper to bumper if it's a manufacturer defect.. Even the 3 years/36k Bumper to Bumper doesn't cover environmental damage. If you have anymore questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

RichieRichZ06,
The warranty you're talking about only applies in the case of a complete rust through. In which case, it wouldn't just be a repaint. It would be a body panel replacement. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

So only rust through is covered for 6/100? and rust ony 3/36?
Q:Is my vehicle covered from rust, too?
A: GM vehicles are designed and built to resist corrosion. All body and sheet metal components are warranted against rust-through corrosion for a minimum of 6 years/100,000 miles (whichever comes first). Application of additional rust-inhibiting materials is not required under the corrosion coverage and none is recommended. See your GM dealer for terms of this limited warranty.

All I know is that we've repaired and warrantied a few 2004-2006 Chevy trucks for the paint peeling on the roof and around the back window, due to corrosion at the top of the high mounted stoplight. Rust was causing the paint to bubble/peel and it was repaired and painted under the sheet metal/corrosion warranty. Both vehicles were in the 4-6 year old range and both were well past 36k miles. GM authorized the repair and it was completely covered?
