Where he lives the OP would be driving it in nothing worse than that photo. He clearly said that for the rare days where it actually gets pretty deep on the streets he drives an AWD Benz.

I currently have a C6Z06, and I'm thinking about upgrading to a ZR1. I live in Kansas City, and drive my cars every day and year round ... snow, ice, rain, cold temps. That said, are there any problems I can expect with the ZR1 in cold temps and snow? Any issues with brakes/rotors, or carbon fiber parts? Handling any worse or better than Z06 in snow? It'll see temps as low as -10F. Thanks.

I will technically answer your question.
The ZR1 can be driven in some snow. With active handling, traction control, ABS, etc. You will get there in light snowfall as long as you go slow.
Having said that, if there is going to be more than an inch or so of snow, you will run into possibly physically damaging the front splitter. Because if you hit even a small "pile" of snow, you could do some good damage. Remember that on the zr1 it sticks out about four inches. So going over curbs and bumps with build ups of ice can cause damage as your splitter is going to get there first.
So be careful.

This has come up before. Here's one person's experience driving her Corvette in deep snow...

Just because you CAN do something does not mean you SHOULD. Would you use your Rolex watch as a hammer??

I was driving home on the DC beltway about 10 or 12 years ago in my 99 FRC when we received a light dusting that made the road surface slick. I tried every trick in the book, but couldn't go faster than about 20 in the right lane. AH was kicking in almost all the time. The vette was slipping and sliding all over the place and I was very light on the throttle. I had about five miles of this condition and it was scary.
I once tried my C6 Z06 in the driveway when it was a bit slick. Forget it.
It's the tires.

If there is snow I have much more fun climbing into my 7000 lb 4WD Suburban. It drives easily thru 18 inches of snow making it a wish for a weekend dumping of the white stuff. The right tool for the right job and a Vette in the snow ain't it. IMHO
I guess you could get some extreme drifting practice driving a ZR1 in the snow if you have the nerve. I took mine out in 36F degrees last week with clean dry streets and the tires broke loose without effort just entering the highway and barely stabbing the throttle. Driving hard at Bondurant was not as scary!

When the road temp gets close to freezing the ps2's can't hold the road. You should expect the carbon front and side splitters to be destroyed. The road salt will hasten the demise of your brakes . Oh and your wheels, if Chrome are toast, Other than that you should be fine.![Canada Flag](https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/images/smilies/Cdnsmilie.gif)
