Default Will the new 427 convertible have you trading in your ZR1?

Some Z06 guys say this convertible will affect the ZR1 guys quite a bit saying they will give up a couple of tenths to have the drop top. Yes he said couple of tenths.

I am not trading my ZR1 for a car that has a drop top but would be a serious step backwards in power. What about everybody else?

I think a white convertible 427 Z06 next to the white ZR1 in the garage would work pretty well.

From the press release it looks like the 427 conv can be ordered any way you want it....not just the Anniv white one...If that is the case a Yellow one will be parked next to my ZR1!

No way
I bought a ZR1 because I wanted the ultimate Corvette ever built
This does nothing to change that
While a convertible Z06 is certainly going to be a great car, it will not touch a ZR1 performance wise, and to the casual observer will look like any other GS Vert

The ZR1 has much more of a wow factor with the exposed intercooler, carbon fiber exposed roof, ceramic brakes, etc

I think that offering an automatic transmission would have been a good idea as this probably would boost sales, for example I would consider one for my wife

Another point is that the C7 will be out next year, and a convertible Z06 will be yesterday's news

The ZR1 however, I believe will remain the highest performing Corvette well into C7 production

That's correct, it will be my wifes car, and that will keep her out of mine.

I wonder why they didn't also offer it with the LS9?

Now THAT might have had some ZR1 guys thinking about trading, don't you think?

Is it a convertible Z06 or a GS with a 427? A GS with a 427 is still not a Z06. I am waiting one more year for the C7.

It has a steel chassis, but it has some CF body panels and some magnesium pieces off the Z06.

It’s a steel frame Z06 LS7 powered ZR1 Vert.

Where's the roll bar? Probably have a tough time getting on a track without it. I'll stick with the ZR1.

Considering how much the Z06 guys whined about the GS getting their wide body parts......... they are really going to pitch a fit over the LS7 appearing in a GS vert

The ZR1 is still the LS9 Beast.
The GS Convertible has plenty of power as I found at the track yesterday
I like the Auto option too so no trading the ZR1 here

I wonder how many ZR1 guys would be pitching a fit if they would have offered an LS9?
