[Z06] The new M/T ET Street S/S drag radials?

I've had the opportunity to do some spirit driving on some back roads and these tires simply don't feel safe. They were 28* cold and ~31* warmed up. The car gets unsettled very easily at odd times.
On the other hand, I still hook in 1st gear at 4k RPMs with ~650 rwhp. I may try R888s to see if they'll hold my power level this summer.

drop the pressure down to 20 cold and 23 warm, it will drive much better, just remember they are a drag radial not a road course tire. So handling will be impaired compared to other tires. They do what they are designed to do very well. Im on a little over 2 months, I think and they are still in great shape with lots of tread. It rained pretty good this today and it will tomorrow and i have no issue driving in the rain.
The last set of drag radials that had were on a different car in a different size, but they weren't nearly as squirrely as these are on twisty roads. I ran an HPDE on my Nitto 555Rs in 275/40/17.
These MTs just don't feel safe to me *on this car* when its pushed on back roads.

As you may be able to tell from my other comments, I realize these are made for straight line acceleration. They work great for that purpose. The $800 question for many people looking at these tires is.. how much of a compromise will there be with lateral stability?

Drag radials are not meant for any type of road racing and it's quite dangerous to attempt such IMO. Those 555R's start "walking" bad at 130mph+ unless the air pressure is absolutely perfect. I've made many top end runs on those tires and it's sketchy unless they are perfect.
Sidewalls on those M/T are a bit softer from what i read. I'll have a set on my Z around April and will provide some feedback as well.
If you want to toy around on curves, you need the Toyo R888's IMO. They have great grip in a line and hold lateral loads very well. These DR's are very dangerous at lateral loads.
Just my .02

The Nitto 555R in 275/40/17 don't even compare to the squirreliness of these MTs in 325/30/19. These feel more like a bias ply tire.
The Nittos were not great to road race on, but they didn't feel unsafe like the MTs do. If I had the same experience with these as I did with the Nittos, I'd keep buying them.
BTW, I don't think my old car did 130+ in the HPDE (LT1 era). And I definitely don't do 130+ on a winding backroad.
If the R888s will hook in 1st, then maybe they are the perfect tire for _me_. But if they don't, then I might need two sets of tires. I didn't have faith in them, so I started with the MTs.

I hear you 100%. Hard decision to make, the R888's hold first gear well, but i don't have your power level.
That's why i have two sets. MPSS for daily driving and a 17" drag pack setup with Hoosiers DR's.
I will be running the MT's on my daily wheels, so i'll provide some feedback in a few months.
Cheers

Yes I called them. They wanted too $$$ much for the 18x10.5 + shipping and the 18x12s are discontinued.
They did say that they will have C7Z06 wheels on 18" in about 4-6 months.
I found the C6Z06 replicas 18X10.5 on eBay for $324.50 shipped to my door!
I'll slap the Hoosier 335/30/18s on her as "Friday night" fighter and 1/4 mile action.
On the streets Ill run my Nitto's Invos.
