Mamba is a great cam but I want stock like driveability. For a big cam it is great. I need to convince my friend to swap it into his car. He currently has a lethal and I think the mamba would be a much better cam for his car.
Just curious why you would recommend the mamba over the lethal.

Went to swap my 102mm TB around. No way that is going to work. The motor part is in the middle of the power steering res. So I moved the PS res. Figured I could fab up some spacers and stuff and get it to work. Then I went to bolt on the TB and there is no way it will bolt up without grinding the TB and water pump. It is clearanced on the bottom for the water pump so I would have to clearance it on the other side. So NW102 is out.

Glad I did that when I did. Found something scary when I had the TB off. Just goes to show you inspection of parts and the motor is critical to stay running good. I contacted the vendor and I'm waiting to hear from them before saying what happened but it wasn't pretty.

Last October I put a QM Black Mamba cam in my car. It makes great power. Last dyno was 550rwhp/522rwtq. Car drives like a dream. It does have a mean idle and you know there is a big cam in it. I wanted some more and was going to do some heads and high compression but then I rode in a 2007 LS2 vette with an ECS kit. All it had was a base ECS kit and kooks headers. It made 575rwhp. A quick trip to the store in it to grab some margarita mix for the party we were at and I was hooked. Drove and sounded like stock until he floored it. Then it went like a bat out of hell. The next day I decided I needed a blower.

At first I was debating A&A vs ECS. The local shop has done a lot of ECS kits and they all run great and look great. He told me he just became an A&A dealer and was interested in doing one of their kits. I decided to take him up on his offer.

I'll be pulling my Haltech FG102 intake, vette-air scoop, and QM Black Mamba cam out as soon as the blower gets here. Those will all be for sale. Since I'm doing the blower and want a nice tame car I'm doing a blower cam since I'm in there. If anyone has any advice the cam isn't ordered yet. Car already has LG 1 7/8" headers, Fast 102 intake, and NW 102 TB which I'll be keeping. Shooting for a good 650rwhp.

I'll keep this thread updated with before/after dyno charts, install, and anything else. I can't wait to get blown.
Had a V-3si on my Ls-3 worked great but on my Ls-7 it seemed it
lose out on the high end, I would change the V-3si to a V-3t trim.
It's a better fit for the Ls-7. if you study the compressor maps on the Vortech web site. You will see the t-trim is defintely better in the upper cfm's
than the si. My new 1500 which is the same as the V-3t does better
than my prevois si!

Thanks for the suggestion but I think I will stick with the Si. It will make 650-675 easy enough. Later when I built a motor/etc I'll want more than a si or T-trim.

Thats my point. I was at 599 with the si. It didn't want to make a bunch more. The si is GREAT for the ls-3, Not as good for the Ls-7.
Switch for the 200.00 while you still can. The t-trim is certainly better for the ls-7. Esp if ever want to pully down any, my 2 cents good luck!

I may do that after some research. T-trim is basically a novi 1500 and I know that is a great blower. Plus the T-trim has the HD bearings where the Si has the standard bearings.

Forget the other stuff!e Because you will most likely need the ZR1 clutch set-up. keep on those clutch fluid changes. I got mine at 14k.
The prevoius owner neglected the fluid and it was toast which ruined the pressure plate. From poor hydralic' disc was new looking.
You are creating a monster. My car got a nice boost from the 1500
it holds a lower ITA in the upper rpm's and warm days. I have no regreats changing the si out!
soon. I think the stock cam works great!

Did you inspect the intake before installing it?

Yes I inspected it before installing. It is being taken care of.

I already have all those mods. Swapping the cam just because I have to pull the big cam out anyways for a more blower friendly one. Already have a LS9R clutch.

12,000 miles on my motor since my A&A install and nothing but pure bliss. 677 rwhp on a stock motor and ZERO issues. You wont be disappointed with the quality of the A&A kit.

Andy at A&A strongly suggested staying with the Si so I did that. Innovators west damper, katech c5r timing chain, and racetronix fuel pump harness all got ordered today also.

You won't regret it. Just make sure a reputable shop takes care of the install. Your supercharger is only as good as your tuner.
