Default Any Guess What My C6 Z06 Will Make On Nitrous

In the next few months I'll be having nitrous put on my Z. It's a 2008 Z06. So I thought just for fun I'd see what you guys think it might make power wise. How the car sits right now. LME 440 stroker short block with Callie's Dragon Slayer crank. Tony Mamo ported Trickflow heads. Tony Mamo ported MSD intake. Vengeance Racing Sumbitch .661 lift cam. Nick Williams 102 TB. American Racing 2" longtubes with AR off road Xpipe and Borla ATAK axle back exhaust. All the normal supporting bolt on's. The car make 635hp and 560tq all motor. I'll be adding a nitrous outlet direct port nitrous system. 2 gallon cell in the trunk filled with C16 to feed the nitrous. Nos progressive nitrous controller, LPE timing retarder box and 2 step. Going to run a 200hp and 400hp shot. What do you guys think it will make for power on both the 200 & 400 hits? Have fun and guess away. Thanks!

What block do you have? If it's the stock LS7 sleeves you probably wont make too much for too long on the 400 jets.

860/790 on the 200 shot if you have C16 in the main tank as well.

It is the stock LS7 block. I'd run the 200 jet prob 95% of the time. Really just want the dyno slip for the 400 shot. If I could do it all over again I would have went with a RHS 6 bolt block but for some reason I thought the 6 bolt block was only needed for boosted applications.

I would't spray much on an LS7 block with thinner then stock sleeves.

This really sucks. I thought I'd be able to run a 400 shot with this engine. If I would have known that I would have went with a 6 bolt block to start with. Oh well live and learn I guess. What do y'all think is the biggest shot I can run and be safe?

Has nothing to do with a 6 bolt.

Are they still stock sleeves? That is the issue, not number of head bolts.

If it is a super deck or darton setup, should be fine, but not a stock sleeve bored out.

Tbo I'm not 100% sure. I know it's a new OEM LS7 block but not sure if LME replaced the stock sleeves. I'll try and find out for sure tomorrow. It's LME's 440 stroker short block. If I'm not mistaken they make the cubes with the crank and not boring the block/sleeves but I could be wrong though.

How much did LME charge you for the short block? That will tell the story. If it is right around 8-10k it is not sleeved and not a huge deal.

Late Model Racecraft has a video of their stock sleeved 440 punisher nitrous engine (I am running that short block) which is definitely comparable to the LME short block cranking out over 900rwhp on direct port nitrous. Its a custom cam but from the video it doesn't sound too extreme. Likely also a 580+rwhp NA car. I have no idea how much they are spraying to achieve this. I asked the question in the video comments.. No telling if they will answer. I would guess a 275-325 shot???

I will be running a 200 shot direct through mine and have no fears about it.

I just got my Mamo ported MSD back from Nitrous Outlet this week. I still have to shave the lettering and give it some paint.

My shortblock was right at 9k. I will normally run the 200 shot but want to be able to run a big shot every once in a while.

Sleeves would have been at least another 3k.

I personally wouldn't gamble on a 400 shot unless LME wants to tune the car and take the responsibility if damage occurs. I would think a 300 shot would be possible from what I've seen. I just wouldn't run it on any regular basis.

I was new to the Chevy world when I did this build so I missed a few upgrades while planning it. I would have gladly spent the extra money for upgraded sleeves if that meant I could spray the crap out of it. Lol. I talk to the guys doing the nitrous install and they recommend not going past a 300 shot so that's what I'm going to do. Hopefully it should still make around 900. I really really wanted that 4 digit dyno sheet though.

you should be fine with a progressive or a 2 stage shot idk how well a 300 shot will be on reliability in the long run

I guess we're going to find out. Lol. I'm going to run the 200 majority of the time. I'll only ever run the 300 if someone out runs me and I need revenge. Haha.

FYI...ERL offers a RTA dry sleeved LS7 for $2250. IF you factor in that you will be paying at least $500-600 in machining, boring, etc... It really isn't much more than $1500 difference.

For the peace of mind, it should be automatic on any LS7 build, even a mild one. The stock liners are just too thin, and sensitive to even a little rattling....

Cool man. If I hadn't already had it built I'd def do this. Will make sure it's done the next time I have to go into the motor

A 300 shot on stock sleeves makes me cringe I have seen a few guys in my area run up to a 200 shot but one of them didn't last very long.

Proper tuning is a must. No block will handle detonation very long.
