I have been coming across chatter on different platforms that the FAST 102 intake is bulkier that an LS2/LS3 intake and that the use of shorter motor mounts
(From Hinson Motorsports) and/or LS9 motor mount brackets are required. Is this on an individual basis or is this across the board for all LS2/LS3 applications?
If I need to get shorter motor mounts I will (begrudgingly) I don't like the poly mounts- too stiff and they don't have the dampening properties that the OE mounts have.
Would like a definitive answer before I attempt to install this intake.
Thanks for your insight.

I've never heard of needing different motor mounts to mount a FAST. The earlier FAST (92mm) would not fit without modifying the manifold or the firewall. There just wasn't enough clearance. Once they released the 102mm (modern FAST intake), they designed though particular fitment issues out. It is still a pain it the behind to get to rear most mounts, but that's normal. There is only so much room under the hood in the Corvette.

I remember changing the fasteners to a smaller head that were the valley cover ones under the FAST 102 so it would sit flush.

If you need more hood clearance, you don't need to change your motor mounts. Lingenfelter has subframe spacers that give 1/4 inch of clearance.
A set of used ZR1 motor mount brackets give about 1/8 inch of clearance.

lower mounts may be a better mod than the intake itself!!!

I think you're correct. I know that fitting the MSD on an LS7 in a C5 requires altering the firewall, and, IIRC, maybe lower motor mounts, both. Tony Mamo told me this himself, and he is very much in the know. As for a FAST on a C6, IDK....
