I really don't know why this car was totalled and I doubt it would have taken much to repair it Vs total it. It has similar damage to what my C7 Z had 4 years ago when I backed it into a tire wall at VIR at about 90 mph. My major damage was on the right side Vs left side rear on this car. My car rebounded off the wall and did a complete 360 with the nose coming off the ground and then dropping. That knocked the front fascia loose. All the shop had to do was replace both front wheel well liners and refasten the front fascia. The rear had to have the right side suspension replaced and the right wheel straightened, along with replacing a quarter panel and the upper and lower rear fascia and all of the electrical parts tied to the fascia. A crack in the aperture panel, a crack in the door and a section of the tub that was sliced had to be patched as well. The rear wheel well liners had to be replaced along with the rear trans cooler and the diff cooler.
The cost of my repair in 2018, was $14K. On top of the damage my car had this car needed a rear wheel, a rear CCM rotor, and at least a front fascia and maybe replacement of some of the ZR1 cooling in the front. In 2018 dollars that would have added another $6K with $2K just for the rotor. This car only needed the trans cooler replaced Vs my car needing both rear coolers replaced. This incident happened about a year after mine so prices hadn't gone up too much by then so I figure when this car was sitting at the auction the insurance estimate to repair the should have been $25K -$30K unless there was further damage that can't be seen in the pictures.
My impact didn't come close to damaging the frame even though the right rear UCA was severely bent. From the pictures shown of this car at the auction, it doesn't look like this collision came close to damaging the frame either.

With any rebuilt car you need to get it inspected by a shop you trust. With that said, you can get a steal on a good repair! This is a ton of car for that price.

I agree. Even with a rebuilt title, at the end of the day, it's still a C7 ZR1. Still a beast and I believe will always have some value regardless of title status. Now if it was just a manual😁

Im shocked it was totaled. Usually for a car to be totaled, the damage has to be around 70-80% of the value. I can't see that being around 100k in damage. Or even 75k.
car looks beautiful.
