With many other sports cars I don't need the Vette. It's a Z51, green.

Still mulling but may sell . Maybe I'll get over it.
Let me know if u sell--- I 'll be ordering a green one soon!

My dad and i have been doing it for years. He started with his 1969 Corvette that he bought brand new. I've daily driven 3 C5's. They are great daily drivers.

Well, since the introduction of the C5, Corvettes have had great air conditioners. Do you and your dad have any other vehicles, or is the Corvette your sole means of transportation?

This comment about the A/C is irrelevant, rather

I can't answer for JS, but I, for one, have been in both situations!

The fact you don't even daily drive your daily driver is your issue.

My 2nd C5 was my only car for 4 1/2 years.

I had a truck as a backup when I owned my first C5(but i was too busy putting 8k miles on it the first 8 months I had it).

My dad's 69 was his only driver from 1969 until 1973 when he sold it to another sailor.

My first car the A/C compressor burnt out a month after getting it, and I drove that for my first four years with a license, including a trip back to NY in the middle of July.

Look at his location(AZ) and tell me the AC is not important for a daily driver. That's what my comment was about.

I don't have an issue. I'm retired, thus I don't have to trudge to work everyday. That's why my daily driver doesn't get driven everyday. Even then, with three Corvettes in my garage, I do feel I need to have a non Corvette to drive on special occasions such as going to Lowe's and getting a half dozen 2X4's..

I'm not so hung up that I need to drive a Corvette everywhere I go. If the mood hits me to drive a Corvette, I select which Corvette fits my mood for that day. If I just want to hop in a car(any car) and go get a loaf of bread and some milk, or buy some boots at Bass Pro, I find the daily driver suits that purpose perfectly.

But don't you cry for me for sometimes having to drive my daily driver, as it's a supercharged Mercedes. It hurts, but I'll survive.

My 1988 jeep wrangler doesn't have A/C. It gets driven in the middle of summer too. No biggie for a young person.

No reason a C7 can't be a DD, at least on most days. Even on those days that the weather is bad, just take a cab, bus, ride with a friend, etc.

If you can't use it in bad weather (at least what is bad for your area), then by definition it can't be suitable for a daily driver. In some parts of the country (south & CA) it could work really well as a DD, but for those in the Northeast, Midwest & Rocky Mountains, probably not.

I have a 73' that only see's the sunshine, by choice however it could function as a DD...My C7 vert will be treated the same way. I am fortunate enough to have other vehicles that serve the purpose of DD.

If you want to use a Corvette as a DD, it IS suitable when properly equipped and properly driven. The choice is an individual thing though.

When it becomes "iffy" for the 'vette, e.g. 2 or 3" of snow and more on the way, it is equally "iffy" in most cars that are not AWD. The C7 in 'Weather' mode is especially drivable. JMHO.

If you want to have your cake and eat it too, it would make more sense to get a Cadillac XLR or CTS V coupe.

Disagree. In my part of the NE there might be 5 days a year I can't drive my Vette. That makes it a DD 360 days/year. I "drive" on-line the other 5 days if I must. A bit more global warming and I'll meet your definition.
