Default 2015 Z06 battery is dead - BatteryTender?

Wow! Thanks for the replies regarding the GM battery charger. After 36hrs using the GM charger, still no charge. Next, I removed the battery cover in the hatch and connected a BatteryTender Jr. Same battery tenders on all of my other cars. However, when I plug it into the wall the Red-light flashes indicating that it does not have proper connections. Geez, I feel like a rookie. Do I need to remove the "plate" that is attached to the "positive" terminal to charge? Any suggestions? Included are a few pics. ThanksName: IMG_6023.JPG

A tender keeps a battery charged. It's not for charging a completely dead battery.

If the battery is flat most multi intelligent Chargers will not power them up. They need to be equalized first. Get another fresh battery and hook it up to it for 12 hours. Once both up and equalize at 11 or 12 v then the battery tender will work but it will take more than a week, I think.

Also realize if the battery is flat and stays flat for more than 24-36 hrs., when it recharges it's never the same, you've lost some life of the battery.

Wally World has what you need a charger and a tender in one Schumacher is brand even has a boost start feature 50 or so dollars. OH forgot to mention it will test battery and tell you if it's bad.

Might just have a battery with a dead cell. Happened to me with my '14.
Dealer replaced it, no cost.

I agree with the other responses, and speak from experience as well. The battery tender and the GM charger will in most cases not charge a completely dead battery.

You will need to buy or borrow a charger or jump start your car to start the charging process. Then you can use the GM charger or Battery Tender to maintain the charge.

You need to get the battery up to a sufficient charge before hooking the tender to it.

Could be dead cell or I've had one break internally at one of the posts. It was only 6 months old.

Go to WalMart and get this one its a full 8 amps plus a float charger. It will charge right from the rear port above the battery. $30.

Why is the batter dead on a 2015 vehicle? I would certainly run that down. And, get a new battery. If it is completely run down, you have probably lost some battery life. Spend the money and get a new one.

Get a new battery and keep it on the "Tender" when not in use. The flashing just means it is working and has not gotten up to full charge yet.
