Default Long Beach Red

Thinking about buying a Long Beach Red Grand Sport, that I haven't seen yet in person, but was wondering how close this color is to Crystal Red Metallic? I have a Cadillac SRX that is Crystal Red and don't want to end up with two cars the same exact color.

Thanks,

Phil

I have owned corvettes in both crystal red as well as long beach red and long beach is darker. Long beach red is the same paint code as siren red on all other GM vehicles.

Siren red is $395 on GM vehicles unless it is a Corvette which is $995.

Darker... see here

now....

Think Almost a burgundy in low light...

and a soft, metallic deep red in the sunlight.

At night, in the dark, almost black...

My thoughts.. on my car

Here is LBR next to CRM

I always wanted Crystal Red, but personally glad I waited I like the LBR better myself. Just wish it would get here!

Thanks guys. I've seen pics of LB read and sometimes it looks dark and sometimes bright red, so wasn't really sure. This cleared things up quite a bit.

Default Lbr

I've had several versions of the candy apple type corvette reds including my LBR. In the shade, kind of a deep burgundy. In the sunlight, metalic deep candy apple type color. Love it and get alot of people asking " Wow!! what color is that"?
Love it!! In the photo, the rear of the car is in sunlight and towards the front, in the shade.

Last picture is in bright sunlight. The car really changes in the sun. It is more of a dark maroon in low light or overcast versus crystal red.

It's an excellent color which really pops in the sun and very similar to my 2006 C6's Monterey Red and also Candy Apple red. It's darker than Crystal Red and does have some brown hints in certain light conditions but a really nice color. Only reason I didn't go that way when I got my C7 was most people wouldn't have known I got a new car. Plus down here in SW Florida lighter colors make more sense. Just saying.

You are right on both accounts. Darker out of the sun but a whole different color in the sun. Another good thing about this color is, fortunately for those of us that do like it, not "everyone" else does, so its not like you will see a LBR Vette "everywhere". It was fourth from the bottom in popularity for colors purchased in 2017. I'm not sure why other than it comes down "to each his own", but that is ok with me.

It may have something to do with the $1k tax to get it!

I agree. None the less, if that is what keeps the color from being over populated, it's ok with me.

LBR has more brown in it that CR. Both colors change quite a bit in sunlight or twilight. I bought a CR car, knowing in the back of my mind I would like it better if it has a bit more black in it, which would skew it a bit to the black cherry look. That said I still went with CR as there was no other choice in this color family. Three years in I am very satisfied with the color. Neither of these colors hit high on the popularity curve which makes it even more appealing as I don't see myself coming and going like all those white Vette owners do. As posted by a few others, the $1,000 penalty with the premium colors no doubt plays a part. What does bother me is the same colors cost under $400 extra on cars with more paint-able area than a Vette but GM charges more than double to provide the paint on the Vette. Either it costs more to paint plastic or we are being duped...still glad I ponied up for the premium color.

Had a Monterey Red C6 and loved it sometimes and was indifferent to it other times. The color changed too much depending on the amount of sunlight.
Just purchased a black 2017 GS. My prison sentence has begun!!
