Just replaced my OEM Delco battery in my 2015 coupe and noticed no vent hose but only an elbow coming out of vent and a plug at the negative post side. I thought that there was to be a vent hose routed down the side of battery and through the floor? If so, my car has no hose.
The plug should be in the battery vent hole towards the center of the car (+ terminal). The elbow should should connect to an existing vent tube on the right side of the battery (- terminal).
Your vent hose might be there but mushed down under you battery. The OEM location of the vent hose is the right side of the battery (toward the out side of the car).

It would be odd if Bowling Green forgot to include the hose. But stranger things have happened.
yeah when i pulled my battery to check out thing in that area i noticed the vent tube wasnt plugged in and also my battery didnt have a plug on the other side of the battery so i bought GM Genuine Parts 25894253 Battery Vent Tube.

Wow.
Maybe this is something we all need to check, even if we have never had a battery replacement!
Well looks like I need to find a plug for the opposite side vent hole. Last battery didn’t have it so didn’t even pay attention to the red cap on the new battery.
Squirrelchew.. I have a ‘17 GS and was looking to change the battery as I believe it is the original… I just got the car Dec ‘22…your pic matches what I see with mine…. (Catalog No. 08/replace modele 48/cca(en) 565/cca(sae) 615). Is this a pic of your original battery (what year is yours)?
