Default C7 Battery Vent

Just replaced my OEM Delco battery in my 2015 coupe and noticed no vent hose but only an elbow coming out of vent and a plug at the negative post side. I thought that there was to be a vent hose routed down the side of battery and through the floor? If so, my car has no hose.

Just did my 2015. You need to get that hose. Those battery gasses need to vent outside

The plug should be in the battery vent hole towards the center of the car (+ terminal). The elbow should should connect to an existing vent tube on the right side of the battery (- terminal).

Yes, it came with a vent hose and you definitely need one.

I would get a hose installed on the vent soon. Not a good idea to have the gasses inside the cabin.

Does the vent hose just pull out of the battery? Or are tools and techniques required?

The elbow fitting in the battery and tube just pull out. There is a plug on the other end of the battery opposite the vent.

Your vent hose might be there but mushed down under you battery. The OEM location of the vent hose is the right side of the battery (toward the out side of the car).

This...
It would be odd if Bowling Green forgot to include the hose. But stranger things have happened.

Anyone have a pic that shows the hose? Might be helpful to the OP.

Wow.

Maybe this is something we all need to check, even if we have never had a battery replacement!

Is there a plug that goes on the other side of the battery?

My old battery only had the vent tube plugged in.

Squirrelchew.. I have a ‘17 GS and was looking to change the battery as I believe it is the original… I just got the car Dec ‘22…your pic matches what I see with mine…. (Catalog No. 08/replace modele 48/cca(en) 565/cca(sae) 615). Is this a pic of your original battery (what year is yours)?

If I remember correctly the plug comes with a new battery, it is attached to one of the caps that is over the terminals on the new battery.
