So the 8th Generation Corvette is going to be the mid engine car? And we're 100% confident that you can put all three of those together based on a what a salesman said he heard GM say? I don't know all of the pieces of the puzzle, but the forum opinion tide on the matter has come in and out many times based on what someone here or there has said. That said, I'm not saying it's not reality, I'm just saying I'll be convinced one way or another when GM reveals what they are doing. In the mean time, everyone has a right to be crazy if they want to.

And for those in the BASH presentations who will ask about an upcoming ME Corvette (for we know this happens every time), we also already know the answer from Tadge and Harlan, “we do not comment on potential future product.” I sure do not blame GM staff for saying that, keeping their jobs....
Several of us also know others well at today’s “Find New Roads” dealer presentation, and we all would like to get more facts and more impressions from them — for while one of us might see a Ferrari-like appearance, a person next to them could see a McLaren like appearance.
Not doubting you Nate, but we all want to know more impressions.

I wrote this...
I don't know what they're doing...I'm just having fun here! My serious life consists of taking care of a family of seven, running a business, building a house, and serving on a couple of boards. Figuring out exactly what the next Corvette will be before GM reveals the details is on my fun list, not my serious list. Let's enjoy the ride, wherever it may take us!

interesting that he said that the nose looked similar to the zr1...
"Front bumper cover looked very similar to the C7 2019 ZR1, I believe the leaked front bumper photos from inside the plant are accurate."
so this nose "may" be close to the look.

It hasn't been up for debate. GM has been designing and building it as a mid-engine for several years. There are some on the forum that wish it was a Cadillac or not going to exist at all but it's status has never been in doubt. A front-engine version won't be built along side it either. It would require too much tooling to build both with such dramatically different platforms. Also, building both would show lack of confidence in the new platform. The only question right now is will it get delayed for a year or so due to testing or production issues.
However, it is possible with slower sales, GM revised their plan and now will manufacture only one car. That does leave a supplier with an expanded plant and no new orders to justify the expansion.

Yes, there are many similarities with this picture and from what I remember. I dont believe there’s a vent in the hood.
Edit- I am referring strictly to the passenger side front corner that we saw. The side profile picture was too dark to make out specific details about the side.

Dang, I bet this is what the GM Factory Rep was referring to when he said April will be a big month for the ME... that I was grilling him pretty hard about. Haha. He probably meant that was the expected "confirmation" month from GM for it to be a full green light project. Awesome either way!

Yes, it doesn't make sense to have a vented front hood. Taking internal space from the only large luggage storage cavity location would take away the only utilitarian aspect that the car has. This car has to be able to do reasonable long tours and weekenders. I just don't see golf bags in this car at all. The FE will take care of that. This ME has now been defined as a Supercar by GM themselves according to the OP. That Supercar term denotes a completely different level of car than the current FE C7.

I guess they don't want to give too much away just yet.
C7pimp has seen images of the complete car and says there is a hood vent similar to what is shown. Maybe your view was cropped a bit too much?
BTW, as you asked earlier, C7pimp saw the images but did not and will not post them so we are going off his description.
Here is a side view dimmed as you describe... any thoughts? Could you see and details at all?
