Caffeine. Incredible color in bright sunlight. The gold metalic is stunning. You do loose the metalic without the direct sunlight. No other color option forces me into the 2024 model year. Trying to be positive about it. Maybe 5 more hp, a better lane departure system? None of this is confirmed. Also unconfirmed is that with a September production start date for the 2024 model year, I can expect delivery in the fall if there are no glitches. That could mean picking up the car and then driving it home and putting it away for the season. Not how I planned it.
I hope that when I get to see rip tide in person, its woth all of the hastle. If not, it's time for plan B.
Sad news yesterday. Received my allocation and ELB is not available any more. Is this really true???

This absolutely kills me. I have had an order in at the dealer since July of 2022 for a heavily optioned HTC in ELB with natural interior. Got the call two weeks ago that the dealer's next Z51 allocation would be my car. GM has killed my dream car. I wanted a 2023 because it is the 70th anniversary of Corvette. I can't stand Rapid Blue, so not sure what I will do. I guess it's back to the configurator to see what I can come up with.

GM has killed your dream car? It sounds like you didn't get an allocation until this month....you didn't order yet so not sure what GM did to you. Pass on the allocation until 2024 and get the new blue.

It’s pretty easy to see how GM killed his dream car. His dream car is an Elkhart Lake Blue Corvette. When his allocation came up they killed his color.
I feel sorry for the guy. He obviously has had his Elkhart Lake Blue spec’d out waiting for the allocation.

i thankfully got in the april allocation cycle and as such got the blue i wanted. but was going to option the red mist if elb was gone when i got in.
ELB is just an outstanding color. I have been surprised that so few are ordered. It seems like either of the reds, white or black are the major choices. I love the ELB and get many, many positive unsolicited comments. A picture is worth a 1000 words as they say.
Greetings from the Elkhart Lake Blue Corvette C8 group. Hearing reports and rumors that ELB and the new Riptide Blue are unavailable for those ordering C8’s now. Is this true? Over 900 people in our Facebook group would like to know.
Yes it is true for ELB. My understanding is that the GM ordering system has already been updated to remove it. It is a discontinued color for 2024. I doubt the factory will spray a 2023 with a 2024 color (Riptide Blue).

The factory has done exactly this before if GM allows the color to be ordered for late model 2023s. There's several instances throughout the Corvette history where new colors end up on a few of the out going model year cars.
