Interior Carbon Fiber package
Who else thinks GM missed the mark with Interior Carbon Fiber package. Besides the pieces that change to Carbon Fiber I think the door and between seat speaker grills should also be Carbon Fiber or at least black when selecting this package.
Hopefully aftermarket will have options for this.

I ordered it solely for the dash. I’m happy.

To each his own, I get it. What I don’t get is the cost. If you get all the CF options isn’t it like $15,000 - $20,000? How much weight advantage could we be talking about. Would on at least a few pieces like the interior be ok in fake CF for half the cost?

Those parts are finely perforated speaker grilles - doesn't make sense to make them out of CFRP. Black painted metal would eventually chip and wear through. And black plastic would look and feel cheap.

Ha... Bose offers high end stainless steel speaker grills and people complain. No matter what GM does people complain.
The entire point of the C8 interior was to get away from any interior plastics... they did that wonderfully. As a side effect, you have less places to turn that plastic into carbon fiber.

I doubt there is really any weight advantage to any of the carbon fiber options. They are all purely visual enhancements. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I happen to love the look myself, but don't get caught up in thinking you are reducing weight by checking those boxes when ordering.

Don't see how this is a "missed" mark as if its some kind of fail on GM's part. If anything the after market will eventually be teaming with all the OVERPRICED carbon fiber options you could want.

Put it (carbon fiber) to bed already. If there's a practical reason for saving weight/needing strength, then I get it. Otherwise, it's horrifically expensive and lets face it, from a cosmetic perspective, it's tweed, not to mention very last generation (as well as the one before) Corvette!! And it's not like we haven't had tweed around for a couple of centuries!!!!
Tweed:
Carbon Fiber:
Maybe automotive design should bring back corduroy interiors and vinyl tops... I think Carbon Fiber (unless there's a weight/structural issue) fits right in with them....
