Took delivery 12/6/2021. Could not be happier with the look and build quality. Good job GM!

Beautiful pics, everyone! Thank you for sharing.

I'm purchasing a new C8 Z06. Ordering isn't possible yet, obviously, but I'm really wanting to get it in black.

However, I once owned a 2006 BMW 330i and then a 2008 BMW 335i both black, and the paint showed swirl marks so, so easily and yet the paint was utterly impossible to correct. I really tried about everything and I'm a follower of Ammo NYC and pros like that. I can't go through that again and black is the worst paint of all for showing imperfections. Is it possible for black paint to remain perfect if the owner is very well versed in paint care? How does the black paint hold up, C8 owners? Your pics certainly look good!

I'd really appreciate any input from black C8 owners on how flawless the paint stays after months of owning and many washes! Thank you!

SterlingBlue - You are correct with all comments related to maintaining and issues related to a black vehicle.

I have owned black vehicles, mainly trucks for years and after 2-3 years the "swirl" marks, etc., have led me to sell and buy new as I was embarrassed to continue driving with poor looking paint....yet I am very good at detailing vehicles. New rags, mitts, towels, buckets with dirt grids and all, yet time would always catch up and embarrassment ensues.

But....the ONLY color of choice for my C8 is/was Black!!

So, that being my choice and not wanting to relive past black experiences I factored in both full PPF (XPEL ULTIMATE PLUS) and full ceramic coating (XPEL FUSION PLUS)...engine bay, door sills, wheels and calipers too to the total cost of my C8. Prior to PPF paint correction was performed.

Not wishing to start a debate for choices I made on my C8 and certainly not for all considering the expense....not cheap and not for all considering the expense of a new C8 to boot, BUT I have had my C8 since September 2020 and each and every time it hits the road it is detail cleaned, which has been a lot and today it still shines as new!! I am pleased I took this route to continue for years to come my Black C8!!!

Welcome to the forum!! Good first post. Stick around as there is a lot of great info and members that are truly helpful....lol, some not so helpful also!

Chaz was your car waxed or ceramic coated in that picture. It looks super glossy.

jkstew....Chaz yet to respond, but my detective skills are telling me nope to both wax and/or ceramic coating as his C8 just rolled out of NCM with a stock finish as all others are from plant to new owners and NCM. Sorry Chaz for poking my nose in.

Glock - Thanks....and although I have always been a black vehicle fan, it's the Corvette's adorned with black paint w/red calipers that I have seen over the years that caught my eye more than any other Vette going down the road....hence my C8 matches yours! No other choice, in my opinion!! Well done!

The C8 paint quality is exceptional compared to past generations. The cars look like a million bucks rolling down the assembly line before any external treatments.

@Gimme1MoreC1 I have to say the color combination of black and natural dipped is absolutely perfect! I am surprised yours is the only one I have seen on the forum.

I love black vehicles. Does anyone think black is difficult to keep clean? Ha ha ha, I’ll bet nobody ever heard that before.

Thanks for the compliment. I hear from a lot of folks that it’s the only one they’ve seen in this combo. It’s been almost a year and I’m still happy with my option choices.
