My wife and I took a ride to Port Orange last week. Got some nice shots of the car at the Ponce Inlet lighthouse and the causeway across the Halifax river. These shots give a good representation of Silver Flare Metallic in typical lighting. I’m very happy I switched from Ceramic Matrix Gray Metallic to SFM.

Thank you! It’s a great looking, low maintenance color. One advantage to not having the Z51 package is there is little to no brake dust. It’s the perfect combo to go weeks between washings.

Default SFM vs BS

How about this?

Will this work?

I’m leaning towards SFM...and there are some photos that are simply stunning. However, there are some pictures that make the color look like off-white, dirty-gray, dingy-gold, off-bluish.

To be honest, these off tint highlights do not appeal to me. It seems that the SFM looks much better under indoor (artificial) lighting. The worst time to view this car is with the sun up high. And the absolute best time is early morning for photo shoots.

No, I have not actually seen this color in the flesh. Trying to make a decision, AW vs. SFM.

As a very happy SF owner I can share these thoughts with you.

The Silver Flare in all light shows so many variations and shades including the awesome metallic flake, especially brilliant in the sun shine
.
I guess that's something you either like or dislike.
BUT the coolest thing I like about it...IT does not show the dust, the pollen and the dirt as much as other shades of vehicles I've owned. Hey it's a C8....ya just can't go wrong!

Love the new Silver Flare Metallic.
Now just waiting to see the new GA7 Hypersonic Gray Metallic- (which replaces Shadow Grey Metallic), side by side with Silver Flare Metallic to see how much contrast there might
be between the two. I don't think Chevy would want them to be very close...Hope someone can take pics of some good examples next week at the Corvette Bash.

Deposit down in early November and was told yesterday my official order to 3000 should be in 3 months. Like many here, I was planning on taking a chance with SFM based on the lack of other grey options but it now looks like I need to focus on what this new hypersonic will look like. My Audi S6 is a darker charcoal grey which is what I’m hoping for.....something with less blue in it than Shadow Grey Metallic.

Either way....I’m dying to get the car here in Lakewood Ranch, FL. I see a white and rapid blue driving in my hood all the time and can’t wait give the wave!
