you should be going through your own insurance company and they will subrogate the claim with the at fault driver's insurance company. Don't screw yourself over like that... call your company asap and let them handle it, that's what you pay them for.

USAA sucks. Was with them for a couple of years when I had my C6. Got sideswiped by an illegal with no insurance. One of the parts was defective so the body shop had to order a replacement which extended the repair time by four days. USAA refused to pay for the additional car rental, their position being it was the body shop’s responsibility to ensure all parts were received prior to starting work. The body shop picked up the cost. Went back to Amica at renewal.
