the film goes on first. It covers the front of the car, hood and fenders. Then the treat the entire car with ceramic coating (including the film). That way the front is double protected. It has a life time warranty too.

Thanks OP. Your car is beautiful and I very much appreciate the way you have described the experience to us.

haha - thanks! those are the mountains you see from Ron Fellows (Spring Mountain Motorsports Park). They really are quite a site. There are wild burrows, mustangs and all sorts of other wildlife up there. I do a fair amount of trail riding up there in the summer, and even some in the winter!

My buddy and I riding the snow trails on dirt bikes. This is how you develop bike control! Some of those hill climbs are pretty challenging.

Everyone else is pulling you up the hill while you are cruising in 5th gear trying to not trip sound. .......
So do you think it is possible to drive it on track with a Track/Race mode for appropriate handling and stability/traction control except with a quiet exhaust mode to pass sound at tracks with sound limits? In beast mode can you override just the exhaust mode? For me out of the 4 tracks I drive at regularly two of them have noise limits meaning I will have to cancel my order if I cannot drive those two tracks due to the car blowing the sound limit. Not wanting a car I have to pussyfoot around the track. For example two of my track buddies, one with a C6Z06 and the other with a C7Z06 get black flagged for noise.

GM has always said to not use "stealth" on track as it can overheat the valves. It would be cool if they could somehow devise a "quiet track" mode that would limit decibels but not harm the exhaust.

It's so hard to say. I honestly do not know. I do know that most days that the limit at Laguna is 90 and Sears Point 93 (I cannot imagine what the db is during professional events but its up there). I used to have a C6 Z06 with stock exhaust and I was black flagged several times. It's so freaken painful. Crawling up the hill in 5th gear while everyone else is WFO.

One of the cool things about the Z06 is how programmable the car is. You can absolutely program the car in "quiet" mode even in Race 2, which is much more quiet than the car's loudest setting. Even so, I feel bad starting my car early in the morning, even in quiet mode. It really is loud.

All that said, I love it. I don't know what that says about me but I do love the sound. I just wish I did not have to annoy everyone around me

Take the front lift GPS system and use something similar to control the valves. Program it to closed for 10 seconds as you approach and pass the sound monitoring station. I suspect the tracks wouldn't be happy, but owners would like it.

Oh man, I did not know that! Thanks for the tip. That little tidbit just killed two tracks for me.

That would be amazing! Or like when you get close to home, and you do not want to wake the neighbors. There are actually quite a number applications for this idea.

This is a really good point. I was talking to some folks from GM recently and they explained to me that influencers provide a lot of really cheap advertising. I guess that is obvious but I never really thought about it.

If I had to choose between riding dirt bikes or tracking cars (I could only do one the rest of my life) it would be dirt bikes without a doubt.

First off. Beautiful car. Great write up. I would really love to get a Z06. Not in the foreseeable future though. Sticking with my 911TTS. It’ll have to do. 😁

Agree with the bike choice. Way too much fun. 👍🏻

I think I've read that it comes down to maintenance. Most of the high performance brake fluid attracts water significantly faster than the more pedestrian DOT 3 stuff, and the "typical" buyer doesn't track often, so the additional fluid flushing maintenance is seen as too large of a downside. I agree it would be a neat touch on Z07 cars, or at least as an option, but I'm guessing the extra complication of having multiple fluid fills during production is undesirable.
You more or less need to do fluid before each track day anyway, unless you run SRF.

Beautiful bike! Is that a 250 or 300? I have a 2019 TE300i, and a 2018 FE 501 (and an old 450 with a blown motor). Where do you ride? It looks really nice.

2022 TX300TBI. . Colorado. Western Slope. This was taken on the Tabaguache trail above Grand Junction. Ride mostly single track in the hills, ie. Crested Butte, Taylor Park etc.

Eff that... SRF in anything that goes on track. Annual heavy bleed. Even my full ST2 racecar I would heavy bleed it 2X a year.

Beautiful and you have Moab in your backyard! I am a bit jealous.
