Wondering if anybody was in a similar boat as I am.
I absolutely love the idea of a Z06. However, I also love manual transmissions, and can make use of back seats / rear doors (I have two kids).
I am on the Waitlist in Ciocca (mid 100s) - I was one of the guys flying and lining up on street overnight. However, I couldn't wait and pulled the trigger on a manual M3 - the only sports sedan with a manual transmission worth its salt other than a CTV Blackwing. It is manufactured and on its way to me.
However, I don't think having $250K worth of cars for one person is a reasonable endeavor for most.
I have them both and just tracked my Twilight Purple G80 M3 Comp Xdrive last weekend. (I actually had more fun in the M3 with all the nannies off in Xdrive than I did in the Z06 - don't tell anyone). The M3 has proven to be more reliable as well...lol
Do some research, you'll want to upgrade the pads and run the car without the nannies or it will eat up your rear pads (single piston rears).
The difficult problem is that you have (at least) two similar priced cars that favor performance and their aggregate value is "x", and you are not sure its reasonable?
If you get the M3 in black, grey, silver or white nobody will even notice it. Congrats and enjoy them both.

The stick in the M3 is no more manual than the paddle shifters in the Z06. If you love shifting manuals, get something at least 20 years old, if not 60.

This is completely incorrect but I understand your overall sentiment.

What's incorrect about it? I've had a couple G8x cars and currently an M4CSL, driven several manual M cars from the last 5 years or so. Heavily computer assisted. Strong stall prevention, rev control, rev match, etc etc, it's not the real manual experience is all I am saying.

Same here, every sports car I've had over my life has been manual, including all 9 of my previous Corvettes before the 70th Stingray HTC I picked up a few weeks ago. However, after spending 2300 miles driving the C8 back from Bowling Green, much of it on twisty hilly/mountain backroads, I will say that the C8 DCT in manual mode is an absolute blast. I have completely changed my mind to the point that I'm now considering selling my C6 ZR1 (although that also has to do with running out of garage spaces).

Manual M3 would certainly make a fun "daily driver" to complement the C8 Z06.
[QUOTE=Jetolso;1606369744]However, I don't think having $250K worth of cars for one person is a reasonable endeavor for most[./QUOTE] Why not? I probably have close to that much tied up in my current 2023 C8 Stingray, 2012 ZR1 and 2018 Jeep GC Trackhawk, and I'm on the list with Ciocca for the Z06 as well.

Anyone with similar conundrums?
The thing I struggle with is I wish you could get the M3 Competition with a manual, instead of just the base M3.
If the cars are paid for, what does it matter the overall value? I've got that amount in cars in the garage now. And before the DCT (which has its share of problems) everyone here was all for the M7 Corvette. Only now do they bag on manuals. I'm out driving my Callaway Z06 today and driving a manual Corvette is so much better
