AI Gave me suggestions for dealing with trunk heat.
I know this has been beat to death since the introduction of the C8. But on a lark, I ask the latest version of ChatGPT what I could do about it. Overall it's a pretty thorough response.

To try to decrease the 130 deg. F heat in my 2021 C8 trunk I covered 3 areas. The trunk rug has .100" thick aluminum coated fiberglass. The air filter cover under the rug with the same .100" thick aluminum coated fiberglass. The underside of the trunk lid with 1/2" thick closed cell rubber insulation, applied inside the gasketed area. Both materials are self-adhesive. Total cost was about $180. It took a total of about 8 hours to complete the task. The original 130 deg F occurred in the trunk on a day of 93 deg. outside temperature and sunny. After applying the insulation, the temperature went down to 110 deg. on a 93-deg. sunny day. Since I did the labor, it was worth it. If I had to pay someone ?????

Yeah! I keep debating with myself as to whether its worth the effort. I think jswatek has the right idea. Just put a cooler back there. I already have one in the frunk. It might just be me, but I think the Z06 frunk gets a lot hotter than my C8 frunk did. I figure that related to the center radiator.
In reality I just started this thread to show that an AI Chatbot (ChatGPT in this case) can actually give some reasonable information to some rather obtuse questions.
If you rarely use your Corvette or put nothing in the trunk that is heat affected, insulation makes no sense. I have a need to keep some things cooler at times. A cooler or random ice packs will not do it for my needs. Any heat put off by the engine and not absorbed by trunk area will be compensated by the cooling system thermostat. I also have the premium cooling system to help. It was an interesting little project that kept me out of trouble for a day.
I've got over 30K miles on my Stingray and have never felt the need to insulate the trunk. Nothing I've ever put in there has melted, or come out more than warm.
Insulation only slows the transfer of heat, it won't prevent it. When the car is in motion, air flow through the engine bay keeps things reasonable. If you park the car with a hot engine, heat is going to transfer through that insulation anyway, just a bit more slowly.

Exactly. A cooler will get those ice cream bars home from the grocery before they are a sticky mess in the trunk. lol
