Default Champion motors monster miata

We had a used LS2 with L92 heads and small cam that we sold to this customer with a Mazda Miata. He installed it and brought it to us for a tune. I drove this car and it is crazy fast and fun to drive. Car weight is 2500lbs with driver. It would have made more power, but he could only fit 1 1/2" short headers on it.

We want to see a pic of the car and that engine stuffed in it...

I was concerned about the air element being so tucked away in the engine bay, but saw the air scoop installed on the drivers side headlight cover. Very ingenious! Feeds the engine ambient air while the car's in motion.

Betcha that car would run mid 11's in the quarter with a good launch.
That car would make an excellent track car, via strip or track.

Nice work Champion!

That's just crazy! I guess I'll have to be on the look out for a silver Miata!

Available here turnkey. http://www.flyinmiata.com/V8/turnkey.php

Only adds a couple of hundred pounds to the car, weight distribution is quite close to OEM. Vette engine, Cadillac transmission and differential.

Got's to get me one!

Of course a used Z06 is about half the price.

on the topic of miatas...

I guess the best kept secret can't be much of a secret for too much longer...

http://www.mtmotorsport.ca/

you can only believe it when you see it.... only days away from completion (there used to be a write up on the website but it seems it's not there anymore )

Saw this car in person, very tastefully done! Squeezing the go pedal on this combo must put a big grin on your face...power to weight ratio is sick!!!

I don't mean to be a downer to this whole thread, but they are lots of fun to a certain power output and then they become a death trap.I've heard of 3 different occasions were a guy was killed in a Solstice convertion. The combo of a short wheelbase, lots of power and no room for a serious tire is a bad combo.
I really shouldn't talk as the first 10 second car I built was a V8 Vega I built back in 1978.I tubbed it before the motor went in.Just be carefull and respect the power.

Aerodynamics don't support Vette like speeds either. There was an attempt several years back to build a 200 mph Miata. The first step of the engineering feat was attaching flags to the car and filming it while driving. Don't know what happened to the project though.

I still remember the good old days beating you with my 69 Camaro SS/RS with the stock crate LS6.
