I am looking to replace my fragile C7 GS wheels but haven't found many options locally, I would have thought that Discount Tire would have at least a few options but apparently not. Any recommendations in the metro Detroit area?
Wait until spring take electric tools and a jack and "find" some lol just a joke.. I remember seeing pics there that someone stole wheels right off a corvette and just left it on it's rotors. Be sure to get wheel locks if you get some high dollar wheels

There are a number of forum vendors that specialize in Corvette wheels and can ship them to your door, to a shop of your choice, or can set you up with a complete tire/wheel/TPS package to where you can just bolt them to the car and go for a drive. But if you want to shop locally, try some performance shops in your area or seek out a local Corvette club and ask for recommendations.
Just an FYI for anyone else that may be looking, I stopped in at Discount Tire and showed them the wheels I was looking at from Tire Rack and they called them up and got them ordered, and for less than the price shown on the TR website.
Merlin, WHY are you opposed to CUSTOM ORDERING
Wheels for your Vette.
With SO many sizes, styles and finishes very few local
Tire Dealers are going to Stock anything .......
Please give us your thoughts on Budget and what it is your
expectations are for Wheels ???
I am not opposed to it, not at all, in fact I contacted several of the vendors on the forum and narrowed it down to two of them before stopping to talk to the manager at Discount Tire.
I would have just preferred to be able go somewhere locally to actually be able to see wheels in person and just deal with one company for ordering and installation.
The deciding factor ended up being my budget was $2,000-$3,000 and I was able to get fully forged wheels by just dealing locally, including taxes & installation for $3,000 and they will be installed as fast or faster than if I had ordered myself via a vendor and then had to deal with a 2nd local company to install them (installed by next week).
