CRUISE ALERT!! APPLE HILL IN PLACERVILLE, Oct. 15
the newest social vette site out there, nonclubcorvette, is organizing a cruise to Apple Hill on October 15.

Okay folks....we are looking to meet at the Kmart parking lot on Sunrise just north of Highway 50 at 7:00am and leave at 7:15. From there we can meet up with anyone from the Placerville area at the same spot we met for the Corvettes of Tahoe show, the McDonalds parking lot on Broadway.....should be around 8am then we can decide who will lead the cruise through Apple Hill as I haven't been there in 20yrs. 
We want to get there as early as possible to avoid the crowds and from what I could find out most of the shops open between 8 and 9am

i'll lead.... i'll lead... yeah right... we will end up in timbuckto.......
hope the car is ready on the 15th... day from hell today. car did not pass smog... they said it was 1 microdot from passing so they ran the test again and "failed"..... ok, guys... here's the thing... when you put an after market air box on, once you switch it back to the stock, you have to run it 100 miles or so.... you are now getting less air flow and it is messed up and the exhaust is rich.....
next crisis... car was losing power so we thought it was the alternater.... went out an got a new one and replaced it but still losing power. we called the guy who owned before me and he said the car actually died on him (he experienced the same thing as I did when we went to Big Hill, lost power, backfired and shut off). He had to call a tow truck and they found a loose wire and bolt to the starter. They fixed it but he told me to check it. Low and behold it was lose again and marshall tried to tighten it up and it broke off.... so bring back the alternater and get a starter..... try and replace it what the shorty heads on there...... 7 hours later it is done. will try to run it tomorrow 100 miles or so and bring it back on monday for a retest. marshall says he knows what the exhaust should smell like, not rich, and once it gets to the level i will have it resmogged......fun, fun, fun.... not, not, not.... at least this mod day had some accomplishments.
see you at 7:00 a.m. on the 15th hopefully....

i'm going to say this.... i can't read maps... i don't know north from south from east from west..... and i'm to dam old to learn.... i've tried and it just won't stick in my head......
tow straps...... they better be heavy duty... you know i have all that stainless on my car....we might have to remove the hood.....

This sounds like a lot of fun. I have never done a cruise before as I always find them after they are done, or after the wife has made other plans. If I can get the wife out the door, we will be there.
