Looking for opinions on fluids and where to buy!!
Good day everyone. I am finally approaching the supercharger/heads/cam/etc install on my 98 coupe.
We will be draining all fluids. I am curious what fluid would be best for all (engine, trans, rear, coolant, brakes, maybe even power steering since I'm at it)?
Also, where could I pick up this fluid at the best price?
Thank you

Hit up RichieRich on here.
He can set you up with Amsoil. I order it all the time for all of my cars and the stuff is awesome!!! Just do an oil analysis from time to time to figure out when it needs to be changed and when.
All my cars use Amsoil and it really does make a difference in the way the car feels.

Since switching to Amsoil products, I've started buying all my fluids from Richie Rich at Abel Chevrolet.

I have just changed from Royal Purple to Amsoil. I did the engine oil change and used a Wixx oil filter. I went to Able to have the trans fluid changed out from Royal Purple to Amsoil. Haven't gotten to the rear end yet, but thinking of Red Line for it.
Amsoil is good for up to 25k miles under normal driving condictions...I've heard of some people changing the oil filter and toping off the oil at 10 to 12K.

We do sell Amsoil in house and we stock everything you need for a Corvette. However, if you plan on buying a decent amount of the fluids you are better off signing up as a Preferred Customer and purchasing directly off the site. I can send you the link and get you the info if you want.
They charge $20 for a one year membership or $10 for 6 months. At that time, you can begin purchasing the products for wholesale prices and not have to pay retail from anybody. Many of my customers opt for the Preferred Customer program because the savings are significant.

That would be great Rich. If you can send me the info, I would appreciate it. Also, what weights would I need for all of this and how much(guess the how much I could look in the manual)? Curious of your thoughts.
Thanks guys

mig1980,
This is what I'd recommend for your application:
AMSOIL Z-ROD 10w30 Synthetic Motor Oil (Product Code ZRTQT)
(zinc – 1440 ppm, phosphorus 1320 ppm)
AMSOIL Torque-Drive Synthetic Transmission Fluid (Product Code ATD1G) (you'll need 1 gal - should take about 3.5 qts)
AMSOIL Severe Gear Extreme Pressure Synthetic 75w90 (Product Code SVGQT) (you'll need 2 qts - should take about 1.6 qts)
The tranny fluid and diff fluid are the same ones I use in my 02 Z06 at the track. The Z-ROD is relatively new, and though it doesn't comply with current API SN or dexos1 specs as it has too much ZDDP, I do think it is a good choice for demanding applications that require good anti-wear additives like your supercharged application. It is very similar to the AMSOIL Racing 10w30 I use in mine, but it has enough detergent/dispersant for about 3-5k oil change intervals, whereas I change my oil at about 500 mile intervals.

I've been using Amsoil exclusively for almost 4 years (in fact it was Subdriver who educated me on it). I've since migrated many other users over to their products, including one well known performance shop in this area who completely swears by it now!
Oh...and my opinions don't just come from those who sell it. I did more than 100 hours of research on oils in the past 5 years and specifically chose Amsoil for its superior lubricating properties.
Best stuff on the market in my opinion (and I don't sell it so this is not a plug that benefits me). A bit more expensive than Mobile 1, but worth it.
