weather machine at the track,

or check dragtimes.com the next day - close but not 100% accurate.

True DA is measured with a handheld weather station and can either calculated or displayed if it is capable. ie. Kestrel model 4250

Pete, I've been finding that dragtimes is not nearly as accurate as handheld weather stations. Mr. Farley's weather station has a significant difference between posted DA derived from dragtimes. Also, his read less than some of the others at Etown. ie. +3500 vs. + 3900. If you go to weatherunderground and use the data from the Monroe site weather station (MONRO1), you'll see that these are a little closer to the handhelds.

4th gear runs out to almost 161. At 6K RPM I am making 620+ HP and 540+ TQ. That graph only goes to 6500, but I pull it to 7K RPM. Thanks for the comment. Hope to have that time soon.

P.S. Send me or post your dyno graph, would love to see it. What do you run in the 1/4? Thanks.

Why wouldnt an MN12 and an MN6 run the same mph at the same RPM with the same tires/gearing? provided they have enough HP to push it that fast...

Both 4th gears are 1 to 1 ratios...

I'm not sure what it would take to trap that high here in colorado. Our track consistantly has 7000+ DA's. Last time i went, it was at 8300!

Talk about crappy air.

I suppose from reading this thread that nitrous would be the best way to go? I was always under the impression that forced induction would be great also due to it compressing the thin air. I think if I went nitrous, i'd want to use it too often because the car is a turd without it.

Oh man if there was actually a 1/4 mile track near me that would be awesome to try. =)

Only thing around here is a so-so 1/8 mile track about 40 miles away called savannah raceway or dragway.

And the one time i took my car to that track was some pretty horrible numbers lmao.

I guess there's no reason to be ashamed among my fellow vette owners.

Heres my list of excuses.
When I went to the track i was around 596 rwhp, but..

On a stock clutch
meth pump wasnt working
first time ever to a dragstrip of any sort (should've seen me staging..lol)
crappy 295 street tires
and I broke my serp belt on my 2nd pass

Did a
2.3 '60
trapped 95 mph
ran 8.5? Can't remember exact number

Since then Ive fixed my meth pump, got qtp cutouts (was on stock h pipe), spec stage 3+ clutch, flip drive, kb bap (msd bap stopped working) and bilstein sport shocks.

I want to get some 315 or 335/30/18 hoosier drag radials too.
Hopefully I'll be able to get a good amount of seat time when I get back to the states w/out anything breaking.

Sounds like some nice upgrades. When you're ready let us know and we'll do some coaching and recommend some things regarding your setup.
